I could use help adjusting my roster predictions. Tell me what should be adjusted in terms of newcomer choices for now, don't focus on anything else:

There's one particular section that I feel that I should tone down thanks to adding some potential last minute clones, but I am kind of torn in removing ribbon girl because she is so farfetched tbh. It almost makes me doubt an Arms character getting in. And I still need to add that WFT WTF character in the roster so that my predictions hit that sweet spot. Perhaps replace Ribbon Girl with an FE character like Alm, Celica, or FE Switch protagonist instead? Maybe?!?!

My question is there are two tier lists. One is regular FEH, and one is Arena FEH. Jakob is notably lower than Brave Lyn is in the regular FEH heroes, but in Arena mode, Brave Lyn is the second best. Jakob is above her by a rank.

That's because the regular tier list is more or less the "budget" tier list, which is more for newcomers or those who don't have all the resources and/or luck to optimize their characters.

Arena tier list is the tier list where everyone is optimized.

But that tier list also have three different sub-lists for Emblem teams. One for Armor, one for Cavalry and one for Fliers.

Max played Bardock and Broly.

He says Bardock has a crazy amount of combo potential, power and speed. All specials and supers can be done on the air or ground. Just an all around solid character.

As for Broly, he finds him "challenging" and compared him MvCI Black Panther which is uh... Not great. Says that his damage is super low to compensate for super armor moves and has trouble comboing outside of assists.

Personally I'd only add one new character for a new series, based on precedent. With the exception of Roy due to being a last minute clone, there has never been a new series that's gotten multiple newcomers since Melee. If Animal Crossing of all things couldn't do that in Smash 4, it's safe to say Ribbon Girl and Octoling will sit this one out.

Also I can basically guarantee there won't be a Gen VIII Pokémon in the base game. The roster was likely decided in 2016 when Alola was brand new. The games likely didn't even start development until around E3 2017. That's way too late to even be a Greninja situation...it'd be like adding Speed Form Deoxys in Melee.

I would also say having Tom Nook and Isabelle is a bit much. As well as Octoling and Inking.
I think both right now have the proper amount of reps to really show their games. There's not really too much you can do with a 2nd AC character, much less a 3rd.

While transformations were removed in Smash 4, I'm not sure about them coming back to Zelda, Samus and Charizard specifically since the three are now officially separated and thus, have become independant. Maybe I'm wrong though.

Then... Tom Nook and Isabelle? I mean, I'm not too sure about just one Animal Crossing newcomer, but could still see it happen. Two is way too much though.

Pokemon Trainer coming back? I mean, maybe, but... I dunno.

Octolings and Ribbon Girl is asking for a lot.

No Fire Emblem newcomer.

I am using the case of Marth/Roy to justify Octoling's position as a possible last-minute new series clone though. The Octolings themselves are very popular in the Splatoon community kinda like Lucina to be considered for a last-minute clone I feel.

Would it be wise to switch in Ribbon Girl for an FE last-minute newcomer clone? I don't know much about FE:Echoes, but assuming the clone chosen is from the Echoes, who do you think Sakurai would pick? Celica or Alm? Which one is more popular?

Go for the plus attack if the speed is neutral. Slap a speed seal and Calvary buffs and he will be really fast and have high attack going for him. I haven’t pulled any new focus units yet but I hope for kaegoro or alfonse

Try out Mario Odyssey or Splatoon, as you can get another player. Also those games are fun for the family.
The thing that is more of a party but is good with co-op is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

Yep, we're getting Altria wearing Altera's clothes. Looks like this is how they'll compensate for the lack of the actual Altera in the upcoming game.

All Extella characters are coming back, and that costume was in the stream they revealed Robin Hood.
Though I wish we'd get more costumes in this style(like, one character wearing another's outfit), I want Cu in Scathach's outfit :V

+SPD, -HP I think is the nice one. I say keep that one.

That being said, why merge them? I mean, his Axe is inheritable. And it's a Wo Dao Axe. I say that's worth giving over. Especially to Winter Lissa, thanks to Bold Fighter. I have a list of who could use Alfonse's axe nicely.

Alfonse has a Wo Dao Axe, so already that's a big deal compared to his Non-Seasonal's Prf weapon. Not only that, it's inheritable and is likely capable of being refined, so characters with stats similar to Karel, Marisa, Corrin, can get some benefit. Characters I can see making good use of it are:
-Winter Lissa, thanks to her having Bold Fighter and good DEF/RES for Bonfire/Iceberg.
-Winter Chrom. He has incredible attack already and a damaging Bonfire, so this weapon would benefit him alot.
-Sheena and Amelia, with similar reasonings like for W!Lissa and W!Chrom.
-Spring Chrom and Barst. Stat spreads similar to Ogma, who makes great use of Wo Dao.
-Camilla. Stat spread similar to Corrin.
-Narcian and Arthur. Not the highest Spd, but good enough stats to make decent use of it. A +SPD Arthur would probably be best.
-A +SPD Summer Tiki and Summer Xander are similar to Ogma, so they can make good use of it.

I normally don't critique prediction rosters, but I know you're really into speculation, so I'll share my thoughts.

• Personally, I'm not too sure on the idea of character transformations making a return. I'd separate Samus & ZSS, Zelda & Sheik, and either split Pokemon Trainer into three of just leave Charizard.
• On the subject of Pokemon, don't think we'll be seeing a Gen VIII Pokemon. Decidueye in that slot would be the safest prediction.
• Personally, I'm expecting at least one Fire Emblem cut, but leaving all six isn't too far of a possibility.
• Tom Nook and Isabelle together seem unlikely. Would probably just be one of the two, and my money is on Isabelle.
• Think I mentioned this in a post earlier, but I don't think Octolings will make the cut as a standalone. Maybe an Assist Trophy or Alt. Same applies to Ribbon Girl.
• I have a pretty strong bias against 3rd Parties, so I don't have too much to say about them other that I don't think we'll be seeing Indies like Shovel Knight. Also, what/who is even next to Shovel Knight?

Super Mario Odyssey and Splatoon 2 are obvious ones.

As for co-op and multiplayer games, if you haven't played it yet on other consoles, I recommend you pick up Rayman Legends on Switch. Snipperclips and Puyo Puyo Tetris I've only played the demos of, but they're really fun as well.

Like, there are so many crazy builds you can make that I really don't think there's a true "absolute best" character.

Ayra stands out for being the only S+-tier who isn't armored though, iirc.

If it were me (saying that people's newcomer predictions should be "fixed" would be a bit much since they're all gonna end up incorrect anyway including whatever I decide on),

Nobody is getting added because of their relationship to Nintendo specifically, be it a positive or negative one in the past, and gosh knows no one is getting added "because indie" because it's the character that matters, not pandering to a bunch of insecure hipsters. Chances are the third party characters will either be super big icons that fly under the radar for not being fan-wishy enough or characters that ranked highly on the Ballot. Not that Shovel Knight couldn't conceivably be the latter, because holy bandwagon, Batman!, but I wouldn't exactly bank on it.

I say he's more convenient rather than better. He's got the weapon that allows him to counter back at range as well as the Special that treats his foe's Defense like it's 80% lower. With Ayra, she has a weapon that gives her +3 SPD as well as Flashing Blade 3. And she has a 2-charge Special that allows her to use 40% of her SPD to deal additional damage to the enemy. And she's very fast, has Swift Sparrow 2 and Desperation 3, which allows her to double before the enemy counters if she's under the right HP threshold.
Basically, do not ever under-estimate her.

Using Micaiah in Fire Emblem Heroes is such a blessing personally and gameplay-wise.

And in Radiant Dawn Thani was like the best magic weapon pre-endgame.

Yeah it's just I feel bad "getting rid of them". To me merging them is the true way for them to live on in a sense.
That and I'm not sure if I prefer a Wo Dao Axe over an axe that gives +1 to a special because that can "add" damage and also be used for Galeforce if they ever inherit it.

IMO if a Shadows of Valentia character got in, they'd be a full addition and not a last minute clone. Why would they be?

Considering everyone in S+ tier is an armored unit except for her, there's definitely a pretty damn good reason why she's up there.

Plus, if you really wanna get crazy, +Speed Slaying Edge so her Regnal Astra only has a cooldown of 1. Who needs Flashing Blade if you just need one hit?

Doesn't help neither Alm nor Celica can work as last minute clones of any of the current characters.
Alm being left hand is played as a key part of his fighting style(just look at his FEH animations) and it's much more unrefined than even Ike's, not to mention he can use Bows.
Celica wouldn't be able to take Robin's moveset because there isn't weapon durability in FE2/15, not to mention the spells in the game work completely different from Robin's even though the same elements(besides Dark magic) are used.

If it's a sequel handled similarly to Splatoon 2 (aka using a ton of assets from the previous game to make a new one), then they have a lot of time to actually work on the newcomers. Making her a Lucas-like semi-clone would feel weird.

If she's semi-clone-ish, I personally see it more as a mix between Corrin or Marth's graceful swordfighting style and Robin's tomes. The latter would only work as a concept though and would be changed a lot, since Gaiden/Echoes doesn't have weapon durability and casting magic requires HP.

But that's basically the worst case scenario if she's in the game, imo.

Honestly I don't even think that would be the case. Alm's swordplay is too distinct from Marth or Ike's for the normals to make sense (funny enough, his style was closer to Chrom's than anyone else), while Celica is so completely distinct from Robin that it'd be worse than making Ike a Marth clone.

That was the reason I was thinking of Lucas and not are more plain semi-clone like Falco.

I don't think she would get the whole 100% development needed to make her because she can get assets from Robin and Marth... if Celica ended up being a playable character, probably will be the second coming of Wolf in my opinion.

The little Hori folding stand is useful if you plan on taking your Switch out and about places you'd have access to outlets for charging. Carrying case, obviously. And a screen protector should be basically mandatory.

I could see Celica getting Marth's tilts and some aerials but that's it. Specials would need to be original and she'd better have magic in some aerials and Smash attacks.
