Man thinking up movesets for characters I don’t know is a challenge. Professor Pumpkaboo any ideas for a Prof Layton moveset? Atleast the specials?

Forgive me for the late reply, but I just noticed you were interested in making a Layton moveset, so I can help you with adding some special moveset ideas:

There are two gadgets that would work well for an up-special. One is a glider made from a Pterodactyly fossil, the other is a flying contraption made from the frame of a globe.

Another contraption he has created is a large slingshot that can fling large rocks. I think it can work well as either a chargeable down or side special, and it would be a charge attack where the longer you hold the slingshot back, the farther the rocks will fly, and the more damage it will deal.

Another idea for a special attack could be Layton's magnifying glass. The way how it could be initiated is similar to Greninja's side special. You can move a single magnifying glass forward similar to how you move Greninja's shadow forward. Releasing it will then give a brief sparkle on the glass, dealing damage. The difference from Greninja's attack is that unlike Greninja, Layton would stand still for the duration of the attack. The magnifying glass is a reference to the same tool used in the games to pinpoint Hint Coins, Puzzles, people to talk to as you explore the given area, etc.

Another idea I had for a special move could be the use of a hamster and and apple, a reference to a mini-game in Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box where you would have a hamster navigate a maze to reach the apple. In Smash, the way how I see it playing out is that Layton would first throw an apple, a different kind of apple that can't be eaten and can deal small damage if it hits someone. Once the apple lands, Layton can use the attack again to throw a hamster, and the hamster will travel to reach the apple. Like the Bombchu item, it can scale walls to reach it. Once it reaches the apple, the hamster will start eating the apple. Anyone standing right by the apple will be trapped and experience a wrack-up of damage caused by the hamster biting through the apple and eventually biting their feet as well. This attack would work best as a side special.

Swamp, I've sobbed my eyes out getting 60% on a quiz with minimal impact on my overall grade. As a 23 year old.

This is something that MATTERS. Having a freakout isn't just understandable, it's healthy. Seriously, no one is thinking any less of you here.

When is it due? Does it have a deadline? Is it something you can afford to just step away from for a few hours? If you can, take that time to just clear your head then get back at it with some renewed vigor. If you can't, just take a breath and ask yourself the important questions about it.

As someone who freaks out over any assignments because I'm terrible at managing anything and everything, I can relate to Swamp.
With that said, his problem sounds actually like a problem so I'd recommend taking a time away from it like Dark suggested.
If you can afford to procrastinate a bit, the by all means do so.
