I'd love having Dante in the game, he would be an insane character with lots of potential. There's also the appeal of having Dante face Bayo, that's bound to happen. And DMC5 is now a thing, so he's relevant again. I could totally see Sakurai giving Dante both his DMC4 skin and the Donte skin, and making Vergil an assist trophy.

But for actual chances, really low. I think we can all agree that if Capcom were to get a third franchise represented by a character it would be a Monster Hunter. I simply can't see Capcom getting anything other than a Monster Hunter rep (not counting echoes since I see Ken as a given pretty much), even though I'd kill for so many Capcom reps in Smash. (That's why Nintendo Vs Capcom has to happen)

But I'd like to see this rumor either way, this looks interesting to say the least.

Alright, last image I post tonight, but I need to talk about this.

This purple alt for DS look sick, in fact, the more I look at DS, the more cool & creepy she seem to be.

However, that make me a bit sad, because while DS as so much love put into her animation. Dark Pit seem to be the same for the most part as of now atleast, which I find to be a missing opportunity since that, he is the edgy clone character! You already gave him edgy taunt & victory animation, so why not go the extra miles to sell the deal?

That's the kind of think that make me wonder if Sakurai really is that bias toward his characters. 'cuz there is always missed opportunity like that toward his own creations, while character he didn't made sometime get way more love than you might think.

I even say, if Shadow is a echo fighter with like, new animations toward alot of his moves and if he got atleast Mewtwo Up-B and maybe a different down-B, that will prove that Sakurai is actually bias toward Metroid & Sonic. /s

They put SO much work in her unique animations, but they just give her identical moves?
Like you have canon to draw from and that assist trophy already gives her a ton of interesting and unique moves. It wouldn't be that hard compared to the work you've already done to her.

Who can say at this point? That being said, I'm pretty sure people would be flipping over the idea of Dante and Bayonetta together. And to think it almost happened in Project X Zone 2.

But yeah, who can say whether he has a chance of getting in or not? I mean, in terms of a 3rd Capcom series rep, the one that everybody places their eyes on for most likely is Monster Hunter and it's not hard to see why.
-Monster Hunter got the West's attention after Monster Hunter 3 and 4, both of which were exclusive for Nintendo systems, helped spread major appeal to the West to the point where Monster Hunter, which used to only be super popular in Japan, is now a pretty known IP in general, and a series that tons of Nintendo players know about.
-Nintendo actually allowed their IPs to be used as free DLC outfits and weapons for Monster Hunter, from Link and his Master Sword to Samus and her Arm Cannon being a Gunlance to even Fire Emblem characters like Marth, Chrom and Lucina and the Falchion and Fire Emblem being a Sword and Shield.
-Rathalos is now part of Ultimate as a boss and an Assist Trophy and Ancestral Steppes makes an appearance as it's boss stage.
-And when you look back to Smash 4, Monster Hunter technically was the 3rd Capcom series to get in Smash 4 as they got the Hunter Armor and Rathalos armor as costumes for Mii Swordfighters, each having so much detail to them, from having gender differences like in the main games to adding the Shield as part of their outfits due to the weapon type being Sword & Shield.

Like it's not hard to see why Monster Hunter would be considered over many other Capcom reps considering how much history Monster Hunter has gotten with Nintendo now ever since Monster Hunter 3.

I feel like every 3rd party is game for another rep right now, not including echos, but we'll see. Not saying I expect it, but I could see Sakurai having thought of other reps while working out the project plan. However the reveal of Rathalos and the stage for it makes me think there's no MH rep because they would likely hide those if it was the case. You never know. I agree MH is likeliest but capcom has a lot of potential reps.
As for the rumor, here it is:

I'm guessing Dante would be saving Lucina, and having the end CGI being the DMC4 goodbye pose to Nero would be fricking awesome. And I totally can see a cinematic final Smash with the scoring racking up to Smoking Sick Style. They didn't say anything about a "Donte el exterminador de demonios" skin so that's disappointing.

I actually saw the suggestion of a donte echo which would be something. The trailer is great sounding though. They put a lot of effort into it.

**** I'm so happy Richard made it though. I'd be way more salty if Simon had his moveset and Richter didn't make it in...

And although Alucard would make an awesome character(again, he uses relies way more on his vampire powers than sword. So don't give me that too many sword characters bs.), him being an assist very respectable because... Well first of all, if their weren't any cool characters as assists that would make assists less cool. Secondly is thay he's a third party character, which makes that spot as an assist much more respectable than say, Waluigi being an assist. Lastly though, Alucard's a bit of a power character in his series compared to the Belmonts. So him being a powerful assist makes sense. I just hope he has hellfire as an attack, that's the only thing that bugs me. Other than that he's pretty accurate. Some other spells would be cool too. Basically if he's not playable, mine as well play up his broken qualities that a smash character wouldn't have. I love to use assists and pokebalks because of the chaos they bring. LMAO

In general, I think that in the future we could use allow some leeway for third party characters. I'm kind of tired of arbitery rules in general when it comes to smash, but this one is a biggie. Like all I'd like is to add a character/echo to already existing tgird party companies/series. Mainly the series that are closest to Nintendo. Some examples for are Alucard for CV(duh), Eggman(sonic as quite a few for possible echoes, but Eggman would be a fun unique character). Megaman and Pacman have possible echoes for the future too.

I mean, I think some additions to third parties we already have would be way better than more and more Pokemon and Fire Emblem characters. Which I feel are much less interesting. Chrom is cool though, IDK why Lucina had more of Chrom's aspects in the first place rather than being so similiar to Marth. Dark Samus is really badass, will probably use her over normal Samus.

Inklings are my least hyped character, but it makes perfect sense that they're in. All of the other newcomers are so perfect so far that I don't know who to list as my main. Probably Richter because he's definitely the most underrated.
