its rather thanks to being late july, summer hitting its worst in the desert, we also had some rainstorms the past few weeks so the hummidity is stupid high so it clouds the heat all around ya

add in being a dry place so not much water and exhaustion just hits ya like a truck

my job is also to basically be stuck out in that weather from noon till 5 moving around 100s and 100s of kg dirt tilting it on up and constantly checking up on the tress to make sure the weather doesn't end up killing them and they grow well

the enviroment and work just kills ya at this time :V

god damn it uni! you were nearly fully healed! you just needed on more herbal medicine work on your leg but nooooooo you hated being locked up with blood and robots that you went outside to wander in sadnness letting that infection spread!

ugh....oh well just means it stung him a lot, he was pretty much nearly immunity anyway

with that out, back to the homefront and were getting major headaways into finally getting the rensevations in the main building, getting all that nice carpet laid, putting down the ceremonial hall which used to be the main dinningroom but since we all like the bar more anyway i deconstructed it to be part of the rec room and where we'll hold the marriage, its looking spiffy but still need more marble which cori is working feverishly towards!

uh oh....this is bad, now since we've built up a hold here and been here for awhile...were getting some juicy raids in now, 11 angry tribals, many wearing supporting garments are inbound and their weaponry is no joke, lucky enough we got some time to prepare, hope no one was hoping to spend the afternoon lazing about we got a war to prepare for!

now since the rescue party is healed on up nicely and the refugee is saved, uni praline and shiny march their ways back home (even with shiny wandering in sadness) while holland gets left behind in her hut, she didn't join us nor have any interest in so....oh well, we didn't really need her anyway, onward back home fam!

now that the rescue party is on their way home, we can firmly focus on the homefront, here you can see us making this entrance as much as a grinder as possible against the raiders, this seemed like the mostly likely entrance they'll be going through, putting up some wood spike fall traps that'll crash into them when walk over along with making more distance so we can pelter them, sandbags to hopefully stop the majority of arrows coming in, their fast and effective defenses

and there we go, could go better but didn't want anyone to be caught in those traps ourselves nor risk things, yellow and lily up in front to absorb the bulk of impact and to melee fight when things come in hairy, andd woomy up front because shes devastating, while everyone else sits on back to shoot from distance

we sit on back there for a hour or two waiting, we didn't want to not catch them and them showing up at our doorstep instead, thats dangerous

1 is going over the marsh on the side to ambush the shooting squad, 2 are trying to take the middle entrance farther right and the rest are going through the trapped firing squad, them splitting up is good for us as it means we can put more bullets in different bodies at different times

it worked well but could of been better, we did stop some of them before but a good amount went up close and personal to attack us, and we did get ambushed to the side, yellow had to play team tank for a bit against the tribals, who figured it was more preferred to use their bows as melee weapons

and with that sucess, they are turning tail and fleeing, as soon as that happened everyone ganged up on choco to beat him down, and we collected our selves, captured the down and myself personaly chased and downed mandrill, couldn't catch camiar and the two who chose another entrance, they fled and got away but still a good day!

and heres the injury report, only lily, cori, and yellow took damage

but holy **** lily! you have two giant arrows sticking out of your leg, its nearly torn off! how is that still sticking on there geez.... well besides that yellow and cori are both hurtting but their really feel worst than they actually are, just took some punches

and heres the combat report....which normally isn't this unreadable, sorry ya can up...blame the smashed and quality up on me :V katt did something and turns out it was bad don't ever expect this horrible again

anyway looking through the logs, it turns out the mvp is very surprisingly red, shot per shot he had the most accurate hits dealing considerable damage as well, and took down a tribal and killed another

lily was also surprising with a gun for some reason (shiny has her sword) yellow and cori took front and took many hits to stop them from going on back, and shish is usually accurate

the people who didn't pull their weight was me and androobie, androobie at least has the excuse of never fireing a gun before which is why he hardly shot anything, me, nah best use i got out of my sniper rifle was jamming the stock into someone, ****

anywho collected the spoils, some pretty decent neolithic weaponry, and the dead, 4 prisoners wow, lily yellow and cori sent on up to be healed and sleep through the night while we clean on up

and thats it, uni, praline, and shiny on their way home and another successful raid underway

oh no trust me you can still use it to crush enemy pawns really well

its just not as big nor as effective crushing then you think it is, its just really effective armor (still cant' do **** against horde gang ups)

Connie won the match was somewhat expected but man once again the coach is the best coach lol.
And then you see both of Ayano and Connie's problems, both have some trauma when it comes to badminton... all thanks to Ayano's mom...

Also, I'm okay that Ayano isn't really being a good main character, it often happens, what I still give a benefit of the doubt though is Ayano's mom, hope she gets the "Endeavor treatment" sooner or later. Or at least let us know why she's being a trash mother.

Got to mention the uh... bathing scene, not surprise to see it in a girl focused sports anime.

Situations like this are proof that "gameplay is the most important thing" is a myth that's only spread by gamers who feel the need to paint video games as objectively superior to other mediums.

All aspects of a game are just as important as the other. If games were just gameplay, it would just be watching a bunch of mathematical equations play out. Which is boring to most people.

I'm not too familiar with MvCI, but "Gameplay is the most important thing" shouldn't be just gloss off as a myth imo, I personally think it matters when it comes to the genre of the game. When it comes to JRPGs, story and gameplay are both the most important. FPS and fighting games on the other hand though, the roster and gameplay matters, which if I can guess... I think it was the former that MvCI did wrong?

Fighting games do not need the competitive scene to be successful, nor are competitive scenes exclusive to the genre. Even single-player games have competitive scenes via speedrunning.

There is such a thing as enjoying a fighting game from a more casual standpoint, and the vast majority of people who buy fighting games fit into that category. Many fighting games have been commercial successes without being some big hit in the FGC. Many fighting games were hugely successful before the FGC and e-Sports even became profitable and worth investing in for game publishers.

Things like characters, context, visuals, and music, are just as important in fighting games as any other genre and when utilised well, will enhance the experience and value proposition of the product as much as in any other genre.

I am somewhat following fight game competitive scene and I am fifty-fifty on this one. Fighting games more often need to be attracted by competitive scene to be successful, I mean that's how Dragon Ball FighterZ did. For a game to be cult-following though, like Skullgirls, while it isn't a huge success, it was probably one of the most underrated fighting game from the last gen imo.

This isn't a matter of opinion.

You used Melee as an example. Melee sold 7 million copies. How many people are actively interested in the e-Sports scene of Melee, let alone active e-Sports players? Those numbers are in the thousands, hundred thousands at most. And that scene didn't even exist when Melee was still a new game being sold on shelves.

Fighting games don't need e-Sports to be fun and successful video games. It's the other way around.

I actually agree on that to some extent, let's not forget that it's because of Melee many hidden mechanics that made Melee becoming the one of the most popular and the longest competitive fighting game in EVO.

It's not an outlier as the game could have and still would have done all of these things if it had the content and other aspects besides gameplay from the very beginning, PLUS a DLC and update schedule (which is just standard for online games regardless).

They could have had a game that sold well and made money off an even bigger fanbase through DLC and e-Sports and what have you. So no, SFV isn't an outlier, it only further proves my point.

And let's not forget that it's Street Fighter, SFV while having mixed reviews initially since the series was already popular among the FGC so it will still sell well, at least that's how I think... don't quote me on this lol.
