Current Location: Mount Lanakila
After a relatively short grinding session, I did Mina's Trial and battled most of the captains. I also fought Nanu again but he didn't have the Kahuna music playing in the background, which was disappointing.
It also seems like Hau is finally putting in some effort (I know what's going to happen already, I spoiled myself when the game was datamined), and Primarina has an overworld sprite.
Totem Ribombee was a pain in the butt. I eventually defeated it by having Ribbon paralyzing it with stun spore, then having Stinger take out both of its allies with Fell Stinger which boosted it's speed by 2 and maxed its attack, then poison jabbed it to death. It took several attempts before I succesfully executed that strategy and it was still faster than me despite the paralysis, but it worked anyway and it was satisfying to pull off.
I then went to Mahalo Trail and caught Lunala, who I obviously named Nebby.
After that, I tackled Mount Lanakila, which was turned into an ACTUAL Victory Road this time! Thank you Gamefreak!!!
I also caught Necrozma rather easily. Unlike Lunala, who KO'd at least one of my Pokemon, Necrozma merely brought Ribbon's HP to a criticial point, but it parahax prevented it from doing anymore damage. So much for a level 65 legendary Pokemon. :V
Once I arrived at the Peak of the mountain, I started looking for the move reminder. I initally had a trouble finding her which made me worry that it might be locked behind championship and I almost went "guess I'll die now" when I found her in the corner of the Pokemon Center, much to my relief. I had her teach Dragon Pulse to Stinger so that it will be able to evolve and Leaf Storm to Takumi for special coverage.
I initially dreaded the upcoming grinding session a little (even though I only needed to reach level 60 to match the Champion's ace, which was 5 levels away from that of most of my team members when I arrived at Mt. Lanakila), but by the time I arrived at the peak my entire team was at level 59, except for ChuChu... who was at 60.
