I don't really hang around her anymore and probably won't in the future, but I'm feeling chatty today, mainly about recent Nintendo stuff, so I figured I'd drop by. I was also kinda-sorta asked to drop by again by somebody a while back, so I guess I'll give my impressions on...stuff.
Now I go back to my Twitter echo chamber.
-I'm not getting a Switch tomorrow. It's still a rushed launch. It's lacking some features at the moment and most importantly, there's only one exclusive I'm notably excited for, and it's technically on Wii U anyway, and you don't get much battery life out of that game if you want to take it on the go (and to be honest, BotW isn't the kind of game I would take on the go that much). However, I actually did pre-order the Switch version of BotW anyway, since I found a major discount on it that was available for a day only, so I took advantage of that. It'll make purchasing a Switch and a Pro Controllor and possibly a second pair of Joy-Con (with Snipperclips because you can apparently do that in Europe) that much easier to swallow. In terms of when I actually will get it? My birthday is next month, so there is a possibility someone in my family will get me one. If not that, I will consider getting it with my birthday money if I get a good amount. If not, then I'll probably just wait until Christmas, MAYBE Summer if money ends up especially good then (at least Splatoon 2 will be out then).
-Really glad to see how region-free the Switch is though, especially on the digital side, that's awesome news and basically means we don't have to worry about staggered releases anymore.
-I...kinda don't care about the BotW Metacritic score or glowing "reviews" in general. Most of them are mostly just non-informational buzzword fluff pieces, making bandwagon claims like "BEST GAME EVAR MADE" or "BETTER THAN OCARINA OF TIME" (this one is the most manufactured statement, IMO). They don't actually say much about what the game is actually like. Nintendo PR is retweeting and spreading those kinds of reviews like wildfire too, so I wouldn't be surprised if at least some of them are paid reviews. I also find it ironic that a lot of Nintendo faithful (not really here, since I haven't been watching this thread, it's more of a Twitter thing) who used to claim "review scores don't matter", especially during the Wii U era where Nintendo had more games that had mediocre review scores, are suddenly using review scores to hype BotW. I'm still excited about the game, but make no mistake, the game isn't perfect (no game is). If you want the most informative review out there (both on the merits and flaws of the game), I highly recommend GameXplain's review.
-Fire Emblem Heroes came out, and I've been playing it. It's definitely a fun little thing, and I recommend it if you haven't played Fire Emblem and want to get into it. However, I am worried about it's future, because there are various things about the game that are pretty bad from a business standpoint. Most notably, the Stamina system is so, SO poorly implemented. Also, there's just a lack of things to do once you complete the main story on all three difficulties, which I did without much trouble. I have spent about €4 on the game just to make up for using an Orb on Stamina refilling or to just push myself to a Summon session sooner, but ultimately, I don't want to spend money on the game because even if I pull the best characters in the game, there's nothing for me to do with them. And the Arena rewards need to be completely revamped. Even if you rank top of the world for a season you get 5,000 Hero Feathers, which isn't much. And the Defense Results? Last week, it took ONE successful defense for me to reach the max tier of Hero Feathers you can earn from the Defense Results. Makes me wonder what the point of the other tiers of Defense Rewards is. There's a lot of little issues like this throughout the game that aren't really anything to do with the game mechanics (which are mostly fine IMO), but they make me worry how sustainable the game is, especially since a lot of people (myself included) are falling into "log in for Orbs and log out right after" territory. I don't want it to meet the same kind of fate as Sonic Runners, but it actually has a lot of the same issues as that game did. At least PvP is coming so that will breathe some new life into it, but there are plenty of other things they can do to make this super successful and full of life, and I just hope they don't waste this game's potential like Sonic Runners and Super Mario Run. I will say that the game made me nostalgic for FE Fates though, so I booted that up yesterday for a refresher. One of the first things that happened was Takumi went and ran off with my maid and had a kid and I couldn't help but laugh.
-Before anyone asks me about Rosalina dropping on the Smash tier list, I am in no way surprised considering how the tier lists are made and I don't care since I don't care much about Smash right now, especially not competitive Smash. I still believe she is one of the most untapped characters in the game and is still top tier in my book, though. At this point I just think she's in the wrong game being played by the wrong player base. Plus she's top tier in basically every other games she appears in (have you seen her stats in the Tennis part of Mario Sports Superstars? Absolutely insane, they didn't even try to balance her there, lol).![Stick Out Tongue :p :p](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/tongue.gif)

There was a problem fetching the tweet
