To be honest, I don't really have a clear favorite. I have a number of characters that I call my favorites. I'll just list them. A lot of these characters came into the position where they are because of what happens following season 1, so I put a spoilers tag just to be safe.

Favorites

Levi - Yeah, it's hard to dislike this guy. Not only does is he super strong, but I'm a sucker for edgy characters, and Levi is no exception. He can be rude, sure, but he's also serious and even leaves some memorable quotes. I also found his cleaning-freak personality to be funny. Levi is also pretty sympathizable once you learn he used to have a really rough past...

He lived in the underground slums his entire life prior to joining the Survey Corps. He was born to a single mother who was a prostitute as her basic means of funding the family and eventually died from starvation. His uncle, Kenny, took care of him in her stead, and after a few years when Levi finally learned how to effectively fight on thanks to his uncle's teachings, his uncle left him.

What also makes him more tragic is that he lost his two closest friends, Farlan and Isabel, in his first expedition, his entire squad during the female Titan arc, and know Erwin during the Battle for Shiganshina arc. He's pretty lost a lot of people close to him that it makes sense that he's become pretty sullen.

I also find it interesting that he comes from the same lineage as Mikasa (it's revealed that Levi's last name is Ackerman), and one of my favorite Levi moments has to be when he brutally defeats the Beast Titan in the Shiganshina Battle (he doesn't succeed in killing him, but it was still a really satisfying scene to watch and one that really shows how dangerous Levi is).

Armin - I'm a fan of the underdog characters, and Armin is no exception. He's not physically strong, but he has a brilliant mind which has turned him into a valuable tactician for the Survey Corps. I can't help but root him on whenever he comes up with a plan.

Krista Lenz - The reason she's on here has to do with what happens to her in season 2.

Krista Lenz experiences excellent character development during the Uprising Arc, the second half of season 2. As Krista Lenz, she does kind acts because she wants others to see her as a good person. This behavior stems from her backstory, where she was an illegitimate child; she was the daughter of the king and one of the servants at the royal mansion. Because of this condemnable background, she goes around doing good deeds in her order to make her feel better about herself. However, this behavior has also leads her to trouble, particularly when she is willing to go as far as sacrificing herself just so she can be seen as a hero.

When Ymir escapes with Reiner and Bertolt and Krista's real name is revealed to be Historia Reiss, Historia becomes a shattered individual who essentially becomes empty. However, over the course of the arc, she begins to to believe in herself and develop her own strength. The two best scenes that portray this character development are when she defies her father and when she follows another character's idea of punching humanity's strongest soldier. Now, Historia has become the new queen of the humans within the walls, and she has gained a new confidence in herself.

I didn't care for her much during season 1 other than, "She's got a cute personality," and I remember there was even a moment when I really hated her right when it looked like she was going to inject herself with the Titan serum and eat Eren at the end of Chapter 65, but boy was I blown away in Chapter 66 when she threw her father onto the ground and told him, "I'm done with you, dad," and freed Eren from the shackles. From that moment, she became one of my top favorite characters in the series. I rank her really high.

Erwin - Another really cool character. As the leader of the Survey Corps, you can tell he has done a lot for the group, one of which was incorporating the scouting formation that is utilized in all of the SC expeditions. He also knows how to rally the soldiers when the situation calls for it, even if the situation looks grim. Erwin is also level-headed and displays some massive bravery, whether it'd be willing to accept execution on the spot or not even flinging when the Female Titan's arm is flung towards his direction.

He also has a strong desire to learn the truth about the world and prove his father's theory was correct, and I see myself in Erwin through that trait. Like Erwin, I also want to find out the truth on what is going on and reach the basement.

Hange Zoe - Her energetic personality is pretty entertaining in a pretty-dark show, especially when it comes to her fascination with the Titans and learning more about them. When she's angry, Hange is really scary and badass. I find her to be a perfect mix of these traits.

Eren - It's true he is an unpopular pick for a favorite character, but I'm pretty attached to Eren. One thing that I like about him is that he is another underdog-kind of character. Throughout most of the series up until the recent arc, he doesn't win most of the time, but it makes sense. He hasn't mastered his Titan Shifting abilities, and he has to learn the ropes from other soldiers. He graduated in the top 5 of his class through hard work and not because he was already talented. In a way, I think Eren feels like a very human character. I feel more attached to main characters that start out weak and have to develop their abilities overtime than those are already prodigies when they are first introduced.

It's true that Eren gets kidnapped a lot, but I think it's a realistic portrayal for someone who receives special powers (I mean, if you given the ability to control all the other Titans with little knowledge on how to use it firsthand, I'm sure different forces such as the royalty and the Warriors will be after you for it. He also experiences some pretty nice character development during the later portion of the Uprising Arc.

These next few favorites are characters that are yet to appear in the anime, some of which were only introduced a few chapters ago:

Kenny Ackerman - I loathed this character when he was first revealed, mainly because he played a part in framing the Survey Corps during the Uprising Arc, but I really grew to like him later on. One of his best moments is when he tells Krista the truth that Rod Reiss, her father, doesn't care for her and only wants to use her for his (Rod's) own selfish gains, and how he shuts up Rod was a really satisfying scene (the dude literally sticks a knife into Rod's mouth). He has a crude way of talking, but looking back at him now, I'd say that it made him pretty entertaining to listen to. He also has a sympathizazble backstory when you learn about how his family was persecuted and the strong bond he developed with Uri Reiss, Rod's brother and a previous king of humanity.

Grisha - A controversial pick. Many hate him for turning Eren into a Titan and thus giving him the responsibilities he has to undertake. People also hate him for being a horrible father to Zeke, basically sending away his first son to the Warrior Program for the sole purpose of restoring Eldia rather than treating him like a son at the same time. Personally, the fact he is very open about his mistakes makes him pretty compelling. He admits that he was a horrible father to Zeke and made that fatal flaw that led to the titanization of the Eldian restorationists. However, when you learn about his motivations for all that he did, it makes sense. We learn through the books found in the basement that his little sister was fed to the dogs only because Grisha traveled outside of the ghetto with her. This experience gave him the desire to join the Eldian restorationists and restore Eldia's rule, fed up with the oppression the Marleyans have instilled on his own people. When he ultimately ends up within the walls after Eren Kruger gives him the mission of taking back the founding Titan, we can see that he learned from his mistakes with his second son. Grisha treats Eren Jaeger like any father would by not forcefully instilling his ideology onto his son (a mistake he made when raising Zeke). He lets him grow and develop, and once he learns that Eren wants to learn about the outside world, that's when Grisha realizes he is the ideal person to save Eldia.

Eren Kruger - He was only just recently introduced and is a side character who only appears in flashbacks, but man do I love this guy. He killed off one of the biggest scumbags in the entire series, Major Gross (more on this guy in the least favorite character section). We also learn Kruger was an Eldian spy working within the Marley military, and he was providing information to the Eldian Restorationists to aid their cause. It turns out his family joined a revolutionary group when he was a child, but they were burned by Marleyan soldiers because of it. Kruger was hiding and watched the horrific tragedy unfold, and he vowed to get revenge. In order to get to where he is now, a doctor had to falsify his records so that he could be seen as a Marleyan and thus join their military. This allowed him to gain access to information hidden from the Eldians, thus allowing him to serve as a mole for the revolutionary groups. Sadly, as a soldier, Kruger had to titanize his own people as part of his job in order to keep his identity a secret. He experiences guilt and hesitation because of it, but he gains hope when he notices Grisha's hatred. Thus, he gives him the mission to bring back the Founding Titan, but seeing how the recent events have emotionally shocked Grisha, he gives him the courage that to carry on the task (Kruger can't do it himself because his time is running short due to his Titan Shifting capabilities). He particularly this memorable quote:

Basically, the actions and goals of an individual will live on, even when the person carrying it passes away, but they can only remain when the torch is passed on to someone else. Sometimes, in order for these actions and goals to be carried on, sacrifices must be made. Kruger's quote really portrays the theme of sacrifice and how this action is important in passing a mission to the next individual when the situation calls for it.

He also leaves this memorable regarding how people approach truth:

Least Favorite

Unlike my favorites, I do have a very clear least favorite character. This is a person who has only appeared in the manga so far, in the current arc to be exact.

Major Gross - This was the man who killed Grisha's little sister, Fay, when Grisha was only a child (and he told Grisha back then that he was only returning her home, but Grisha figured out he was lying). He later appears when the Eldian Restorationists are about to be Titanized in Utopia, and we learn that he killed Fay not only because she went beyond the ghetto, but also because she was Eldian. Major Gross is a racist scumbag who believes all the Eldians are monsters that need to be wiped out, and he enjoys torturing and executing them. He also taunts Grisha after titanizing Grisha's wife, Dina. Thankfully, this character gets one heck of a satisfying death when Kruger pushes him off the Marleyan wall right when Grisha was about to be thrown off, and then Gross gets devoured by the Titan nearby.
Nice detail! I'll share my list tomorrow.

And here I am, still hoping for the Crash remakes to sell well enough for a true sequel to at least be considered. Another racing spin-off in the style of Crash Team Racing and Crash Nitro Kart would be nice, too.

Hey man at least that's very plausible right now (at least the first part).

That's more than I can say for something like Spyro at least.

I think Angel type is to Light type what Bird type would be to Flying type.

Too limiting.
Tell that to fairy type. :p Seriously, it really should've been called something else, I get what it represents, but holy **** it's over complicated for something as simple as a type. Compared to every single other type which is really simple. I've never had someone explain fairy type to me without it sounding too deep. Compared to every other type which is self explanatory, the most complex type other than Fairy is Dark type, but even then it's still pretty simple.

You'd think "Bug" type would be too limiting, but on the other hand there are so many "bugs" on earth they can figure something out

Although there is nothing "Bug" about "First Impression"

Y'know what, the Switch presentation is a week away, I'm gonna make one of those bingo cards too. Just regarding info we might get next week, not in general.

Tried not to pick obvious ones (no discs? MK8 port? 3D Mario? C'mon) or ones that have very little chance of happening (a new GS ;_;).
My first one was indeed a bit obvious. Gonna make a new one soon.

It's Japanese name is 'head on collision' iirc, and for a bug that kiiiiiiinda makes sense. My guess is that the move was thought of first as they wanted to give Golisopod a signature move

Tried to practice Splatoon again today in the hopes that it makes me better for the Switch version. Hopefully I don't make myself too sick of it, but I guess if I do then there's always Breath of the Wild. I seem to make it up about one rank per day that I try to go up in Ranked so far, but I'm still not that high of a rank and I already escaped being demoted out of B+ by the skin of my teeth as it is. Made it to A- eventually, though.

Now I'm taking a break and trying to practice using the scope in normal battles because I CANNOT shoot with ranged rifles to save my life. It's fun to splat someone with them, though.

One Squid In The Plaza said:

Also I feel bad for the poor girl.

Yeah, the move was made more with Golisopod in mind rather than bugs in general.

Same thing applies to Darkest Lariat, other than the visuals, there's nothing really "dirty" about a Lariat.

How about Chitin Charge? That'd be a similar name but bug focused

Edit: I tweeted pokemon about making the change.

They must be regretting they didn't think that up about now

Well, things like Bug and Dragon are pretty much what you stereotypical think of a bug or dragon.(Even if they're technically not a bug or dragon.) While Fairy isn't defined by typical fairies.

Also, First Impression is bug type because it's currently Golispods signature. It's the same reason why things like Roar of Time and Core Enforcer are dragon type. It's that typing because of the pokemon that the move relates to.

Cute things.
That works.(That/beautiful.) It doesn't really explain how the other types and why it's called Fairy, but it works.

Which is my biggest problem with the type, it kind of feels really forced in compared to every other type and feels like it's literally just balance patch the type.(To be fair Dark and Steel acted as that too, but they were better executed.)

Fairy type is Dark type, full of crafty and dirty tricks, but a lot more subtle. See Play Rough and Draining Kiss

Honestly that's great as it helps make Golisopod a good gimmick mon

I am still convinced Incineroar was a fighting type turned dark mid development as they didn't give him dirty moves

No. Changing First Impression means no business man Golisopod at a job interview with the bird that flies by the SHEER FORCE of it's anger

I don't really think that's the case as Incineroar is a heel wrestler. And even though it's not reflected in it's moves too much the concept art definitely does (using chairs which is a classic dirty wrestling move).

Even Torracat exhibits bad behavior as it will attack trainers sometimes.

Well it doesn't help that monster heels are always so slow and not very flashy.(Which started because if they were to be more flashy.) With the exception of some monster heels such as Vader who did things such as moonsaults. Hence Incineroar having a malicious "moonsault"(it's not actually a moonsault just like how its lariat isn't actually a lariat.) for his Z move.

Anyone know why the media is trying to divide the country? Because it's working.

Especially CNN.

They are working hard to divide the country

Edit: Earlier today I was reading a source that suggested it was motivated by money because it draws in more clicks to their sites, videos, etc.

Finally got the 100% Alola Dex.
Getting the 301 Pokémon was pretty fun this time and more satisfying than completing the way bigger National Dexes of Gen VI.

Now to wait for Bank to get the other 500. :v

If you mean "the media"by all of the main news media outlets then I agree. I have no idea why some people act as if the conservative media doesn't have their own obvious biases too.

I'm not going to pretend it's just one side dividing people. Both sides only care about the money

But it's not just mainstream media outlets. Even some of the alternative media are pushing to divide, if even with less "sinister" intentions.

Yeah, that's true. There's some pretty ridiculous news you can find on many alternative sources online that will often make stuff up just to make controversy. Especially since it tends to get them a lot of clicks.

Honestly, journalism and the news industry in the first world is a mess right now.

There's tons of corruption, bias and laziness when it comes to writing and sourcing.

Not to say that there aren't good channels/sites... But it's awful most everywhere.

So, to all you Overwatch players on this thread, I'm curious: how many characters do you all use? Which characters are they?
I love playing 76. To me, he is really fun and i think he is really cool personality wise as well. His Commander Morrison skin is my favourite skin in the game... plus he is really good in this meta. For tanks i usually go D.va but if needed Rein as well. I use Ana for support.

With Cyn Cyn 's glorious wizardry, this beautiful bug beast (Caught in a Premier Ball!) has been added to my competition boxes.

White Terror
Golisoped@Assault Vest
Ability: Emergency Exit
EVs: 252 HP/252 Att/4 SpD
Adamant Nature
-Leech Life
-Poison Jab
-Liquidation
-First Impression

First Impression is the usual leadoff for a quick and powerful STAB that can OHKO the likes of Megazam and other fast 'Mons weak to Bug-Type attacks. Liquidation is the best physical Water-Type attack in Golisoped and hits hard with the occasional stat debuff. Poison Jab snags Tapu Bulu on switch and offers coverage against fairies, specifically Azumarill and Primarina, who would otherwise wall Golisoped. Finally, Leech Life deals excellent STAB and replenishes health, which synergies well with Golisoped's massive bulk with Assault Vest.

Another option over Poison Jab is Sucker Punch, which also hits hard and has priority, but you're walled hard by Azu and Prima. Rock Slide is also a viable option which catches birds on the switch, but that's about it.

You can switch the 4 IVs in SpD to Spe to outpace similar Golisoped, thus winning Leech Life fights against them.

I feel Shiny Golisoped is one of the best shinies in the generation. He looks magnificent and kicks ass magnificently. Emergency Exit gripes aside- I will be using this a lot, paired with my Alolan Frost Duo core.

Well, i just benched-watched Kiznaiver an "Underrated" anime from last year. And yeah,All of you should watch it.Its a strange thing to describe its kinda a slice a life but a the same time not.People share pain and emotions and a character that's like Mako from kill la kill(which makes sense since it's trigger)but not. Also wouldnt say its random humor but humor.Just a very interesting cute fun anime.Plus you know there's top tier waifu Nico, and if you dont agree yout scum
Is that that one Trigger anime I keep hearing about? Because if so, I might need to add it to my list
Me: "Man, my to watch list is already big enough as it is, I shouldn't be putting more stuff into it"
Inner me: "It's Trigger, just add it"
You'd think "Bug" type would be too limiting, but on the other hand there are so many "bugs" on earth they can figure something out

Although there is nothing "Bug" about "First Impression"
There's nothing bug about spiders either

The definition for the word "Bug" that I always learned growing up including insects, arachnids, Myriapods, some crustaceans, and event mollusks such as terrestrial gastropods.

The colloquial definition of the word "Bug"

Edit: Also various unrelated "worms"
