Since we were speaking about video game soundtracks recently, here's another question: what is your favorite video game soundtrack as a whole? Not a single song, but rather: an entire soundtrack from a single video game?
Oh, NeoGAF. I saw some posts complaining that "We know everything already" in terms of the Switch.
In that moment I suddenly had a Gematsu flashback. So many people insisted Gematsu was all the characters we were getting to the point of refusing to allow others to speculate, and what happened?
The circumstances are different here, but I think the results could work out to be similar in their own way, as the leakers seem to have some holes in what they're finding out. Animal Crossing in particular has been. . .weird. The leakers haven't heard a peep, but Nintendo themselves have been doing weird enough stuff that it makes you wonder.
"We know everything already" only really even applies to people who just hate absolutely every single game rumored anyway, because we know almost nothing about the rumored games other than that they exist. Even Splatoon which has had among the most specifically mentioned content rumored so far has so many fine details not even rumored that it may as well be as though no one knows anything.
Even if the rumored games ended up being the only ones there, I'd still see it as being worth watching the Presentation because the actual knowledge about the content and footage of the gameplay isn't showing up until then or at least until right before. And since the leakers are STILL digging up new things less than two weeks off (if about games already leaked), brushing off any chance of their being something else seems a bit rash.
But I mean, that's just me reading other forums trying to ride a hype train that hasn't quite taken off from the station yet for most people using leaks that some people are stressed out by. :/
I do kinda wish the leakers (LKD) would clam up now, we're pretty well within spitting distance of the presentation, and it's not like people are parched for info like they were for most of 2016. But at the same time I recognize that leakers gonna leak, and being a part of the internet, and going where I go on the internet, I'm just going to run into that kind of stuff and be bombarded with that information. It's on me to distance myself from info that might come out which I may not want to hear at this point. Not gonna blame the leakers. Though they do seem to be impeding the normal level of hype that would normally be circulating all over the place. Let's see how the next days transpire.
That said, I sincerely doubt we'll know everything the Switch presentation holds prior to the actual presentation. Not least because LKD keeps saying she's holding some things back, but simply because, even as fruitful as her sources have been, I doubt they know everything this presentation will entail. Plus like you said, even if we should know these games exist, we've seen scant amounts at most of them, bar BotW and a few other exceptions.
And really, whining that we know everything is a silly complaint. Especially from people doing little to nothing to actively avoid running into leaks.
I just learned that Incineroar can learn the Insect move, Leech Life.
Well....I guess he does have big mouth to bite his enemy with?...
Not that I am really complaining, a Pokemon that can deal good damage and can regain life? Oh mother of yes, I love it!
Good for taking advantage of InCENAroar's Attack stat with Flare Blitz.
Heal the self-inflicted damage from the former while doing decent damage at the same time.

Yeah, it's really great how many move you can use from different type for just one Pokemon. It really give you alot of choice and since CT can be used infinitly. You can change some move depending of the situation you are.
Really, good job Gamefreak, good job.
*slow clap*

Just dropping in to say that you haven't heard Pyramind Cave until you've heard Jun Senoue play it live on stage. It sounds so much better and now I can't go back.
Also, while I won't say it's my favourite OST, the Journey OST is expertly composed and really helps define the game. Every song is perfect for every moment and it's really memorable to boot.
I just bought Overwatch. I also downloaded the battle.net program for my laptop and now I'm installing the Overwatch game. I am so excited to play it lol

I'll pick Project X Zone 2 since it's filled with many other video game soundtracks
Nothing like X and Zero destroying Mechons while Segata Sanshiro's theme plays
Damn thing is huge in person! I think mine is around 100 range cause I cannot lift it by myself, but the good thing about it being so huge is that when two people lift it, there's plenty space for both people to grip.
To be quite honest, this CRT by itself is worthy of note. The picture quality is actually really good, and the colors are pretty accurate. The guy who sold it to me was the one who initially purchased it and he purchased it for 3,000$ back in the day.
This thing has a lot of customizable features as well as a almost completely rotating stand and you can even tilt it upwards and downwards. And in some funny way, kinda prefer that this is 1920x1200 instead of the FW900's higher res cause it means less graphical power required for gaming.
There's even one bad ass feature I haven't tested yet, it has BNC connectors. So I should be able to hook up SCART systems up to it, which I plan on doing today.
Arcanine, Snorlax, Ursaring, Qwilfish, Castform, Shiftry, Porygon-Z, Tangrowth, Chandelure, Samurott, Sawsbuck, Unfezant, Crustle, Klefki, Talonflame (with the old version of Gale Wings as its new ability ), Trevenant, Mudsdale, Primarina, Toucannon, Dhelmise, Ribombee.
Oh also as an addendum, I saw an awesome idea for a Mega Dhelmise.
It just goes full-on Flying Dutchman, with the haunted seaweed taking over an entire sunken ship and swinging around a massive anchor. Ghost ship, man.

mine only has 2 vga connectors, but I don't think I'm really losing out on anything because I don't have any pal stuff with scart and I'm definitely not gonna find a computer with bnc outputs :V
Though if I did want to play a game console on it, I still could, I'd just need a scart cable and this. http://arcadeforge.net/Scaler-and-Strike-Devices/Sync-Strike::15.html
BNC and VGA both carry the same signal, RGBHV, it's just that all the coaxial connectors on bnc are ultra shielded from each other and vga has 10 extra pins for something
You know how a lot of us joked/talked about how Primarina would be Azura's Pokemon a while back? Well, looks like we finally have a video parody of that. Someone from another social I'm part of shared this, and I thought I'd share it here for those that are interested.
I'm sure the Primarina fans here will enjoy this video in some way.
Female Corrin as the Pokemon Trainer was my favorite part.
Finished my second playthrough of Shantae: Half-Genie Hero.
So here's my thoughts. Certain plot points will be spoilered in case you want to be surprised.
The gameplay is different than most Shantae games. Rather than being a Metroidvania, it's more focused on platforming. Though the levels still have Metroidvania elements, with a bunch of hidden items and power ups, which you can backtrack to get later. The transformations from the first two games return, though they are much quicker to activate (especially compared to the first game). Some of the things you can turn into are monkey to climb walls, a mouse to fit through small gaps, and a harpy to fly, just to name a few.
Some of the transformations however are more useful than overs, the mouse is very situational, but you'll be using the monkey quite a bit. I doesn't ruin anything, but I would have like to have seen more uses of some transformations. Shantae controls very tightly and responsive, you never feel out of control and most deaths will more than likely be your fault.
The story is were I have problems. The game takes a more episodic approach with it's storytelling than the past games, which had one focused story, with a couple of other things happening along the way. Doing an episodic approach isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I think it's not executed well here. It just feels like a series a events happening that just so happen to be connected. I honestly forgot the main plot point with the Genie Realm in danger until near the end. It's not awful, it just feels a little jumbled. There are also two instances that pretty much scream "cut-content."
Shantae is replaced as the town Genie by another supposed Half-Genie named Holly. At first I though she would sort of be like what Knuckles was in Sonic 3&K, someone who gets in the way consistently during the hero's adventure. But she's pretty much gone as soon as she's introduced. It's a shame, I really like her backstory, I think you could even make an entire game about Shantae fighting Holly.
The second part is where Shantae is consumed by dark magic and briefly turned into Nega Shantae. However, like Holly, she's gone as soon as she's introduced. Now, there was a stretch goal that involved Nega Shantae that wasn't reached. So that probably explains it. It does give Shantae some sort of character development, but I feel it could have been handled better.
Despite my personal problems with the story, the dialogue is as good as ever. Shantae is known for it's very charming and funny characters, and that still shines. The interactions between characters are wonderful. You can tell these characters have known each other for a while and are truly friends (or enemies in some cases). It really makes me sad that the full voice acting stretch goal wasn't met, we still gets bits of voice acting from Shantae and Risky Boots (both played by Cristina Vee), but none of the other characters.
In short, while the story is weak, the dialogue still manages to be great.
The music is fantastic, though that's to be expected from the legendary Jake "Virt" Kaufman. The songs are upbeat, catchy, and overall just put you in a good mood. We also have a vocal theme from Cristina Vee "Dance Through the Danger."
Overall, Shantae Half-Genie Hero is another great game from the folks at WayForward, and serves as a great introduction to the newcomers for the series. While the story is disappointedly jumbled, it makes up for it in it's dialogue. The music is fantastic, and the game is filled with a ton of charm. One of the things I love about this series is that it feels like it's made by people who love their jobs, and that still shows. While I personally think Pirate's Curse is still the better game, and that Risky's Revenge is the best entry point for people, I still say this game should be a part of your collection.
It's great to see another Kickstarter game done right.
*has a giant sigh of relief after typing all that*

I've ran into that Sync Strike before long ago but I wonder if it is capable of 240p on VGA or if it requires upscaling to 480? I heard this monitor could possibly do 240p, but I'm not sure how this is possible without scanlines.
But yeah, to be honest, you could always go for a PVM or BVM which are far easier to obtain than this monitor I'm using, it's just for me it's a nice bonus because I have SCART cables for my NTSC systems like Genesis and Dreamcast. I actually own a PVM as well, and that has a beautiful picture too, but I think even this CRT monitor I have looks better. Or you can just use emulators and be happy with that. Hahaha.
Well, because I can't play my Xbox 360, I'm back to playing Pokémon. Here's what I'm training now.
Typhlosion@Firium-Z
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 SpA/252 Spe/4SpD
Modest Nature
Flamethrower/Sunny Day/Solar Beam/Extrasensory
--
I'm training this solely for testing to see how I should adjust my EVs in Speed because of the 1+ obtained from Sunny Day-Z.
--
Lycanroc@Focus Sash
Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 252 Att/252 Spe/4 SpD
Jolly Nature
Accelrock/Taunt/Stealth Rocks/Fire Fang
--
Lead wolfy. Fast taunt/rocks, priority Rock, and decent coverage from Fire Fang. Not a whole lot to say here.
--
Alakazam@Alakazite
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 SpA/252 Spe/4SpD
Modest Nature
Psychic/Focus Blast/Shadow Ball/Substitute

A more serious Pokémon I'm training. Megazam hits very hard, and with Substitute can scout enemy attacks. Paired with Psychic Terrain, Psychic basically kills everything.

I know about pvms but I don't really think I need one at the moment, considering the only 240p console I have is an n64 and I don't use it too much. and the n64 doesn't output scart without being modded
well 240p isn't really a video standard, it's just 480i but only using half of the screen real estate to draw a progressive 60fps image. It draws blank lines inbetween each scanline, and that's where the scanlines come from. So it will probably have scanlines.
also, make sure to keep the monitor above 60hz. I've read and noticed with my own eyes that you can see this strobing in 60hz, mostly on the color white. after a few hours it kills your eyes.
While a Nintendo Direct hasn't been truly leaked yet, stuff for the Nintendo Directs have been leaked before. Like we did not know there would be a Smash Direct by itself at E3 2015, but Roy and Ryu were leaked beforehand. I also think Kirby Planet Robobot was also leaked before it's announcement in the one Nintendo Direct.

Megas ain't happening anymore, probably because GF realised, too late, how big of a mistake they were.
Like, some work perfectly like Mega Loppuny and Mega Beedrill because it makes once usueless Pokemon stronger. But then you give it to already strong ones and you just make everything pointless.
****, they even had the chance this gen to get rid of some of them but nope let's make all the broken ones avaible
Also, Mega Fug and its Primal bros are still a thing
IDK what you're talking about, I think they did a fine job considering they made many megas for otherwise under powered pokemon as they did considering it was DESTINED that they had to also use the gimmick for fan favorites. It's pretty much unavoidable.(Not to mention the many under powered pokemon they did choose were fan favorites anyway.)
Also, the primal bros actually made the uber meta game interesting again.(Before that the entirety of it just revolved around Xerneas and Mega Mewtwo Y.) It brought back the roles that they used to have before the weather nerf.(Except now Groudon is the more more dominant now rather Kyogre. Choice Scarf Kyogre is also now extremely risky which thank goodness.) Mega Ray should've just got the jade orb to mega evolve though.(Along with the Delta Stream being able to be cancelled out by other heavy weather that way it can actually die or just make the Delta Stream effects less broken in general at least.)
If anything the worst Megas are the ones that don't really change that pokemon that much.(Whether that pokemon was good or bad in the first place.) Garchomp, Tyranitar, and Scizor for instance really didn't need Megas. I mean, as strong/broken Mega Metagross and Salamence are, at least they had a drastic difference from their original counterparts. Mega Mence is also a nice addition to the Ubers meta game, unlike Mega Mawhile, which is countered too easily in ubers, Mence made sense to ban and is a strong threat in ubers.
Also, one of the most infamously broken Megas came from a weak pokemon.(Kangaskhan, which was also way too common in ubers before the ORAS metagame.)
Also, they probably ended Mega Evolution for now because they want the Z-Ring to be the primary focused gimmick. That and regardless of what Mega it was, it made the main game too easy, I'd say.
I know about pvms but I don't really think I need one at the moment, considering the only 240p console I have is an n64 and I don't use it too much. and the n64 doesn't output scart without being modded
