You know, I was a bit iffy about the idea of a Nintendo-centric amusement park at first, probably because of the possibility of them adopting a Disney-esque business model. But having a section of a park as diverse as Universal seems like the perfect fit.
In fact, I visited Universal Orlando last August and it was amazing seeing how much the park has changed. They really capture the essence of the properties they theme after. Finally mustered the balls to go on the more extreme rides too.
Here's a prime question that'll stur up the discussion: what island of Universal Orlando do you think will be scraped in place of the Nintendo park?
Marvel Superhero Island sticks out like a sore thumb. Disney now owns the rights to Marvel, so it's probably a real hassle trying to develop anything new for that area. Seems like a huge-ass upkeep job. The Lost Continent is another one, as it's super antiquated and there's really nothing exciting to be found over there. A lame special effects show is your e-ticket there.
I'd rather keep Toon Lagoon, as the 50s cartoon & newspaper comics theme is a relic I'd rather preserve. Think just about anyone can relate to that theme. It's not like we have to make absolutely everything super relevant. Ripsaw Falls could use some repairs and touch-ups though. That ride really shows its age.
