I really hope we finally get a good Dragon Ball game ^_^
Same I hope this game is a good fighting game on its own right and focuses less on "feeling" like dbz. We have enough dbz games that feel like the show I want one that plays like a good tournament fighter, while looking like dbz.

Everyone saying this could finally be a good DBZ game....so did we all forget Xenoverse already orrrrrrrrr
Xenoverse looks interesting but not really like a traditional fighter like MK, SF,Tekken, or KOF not saying it looks bad just it's own thing. Hoping the new 3ds one is more like a 2d fighter, maybe a bit like MVC?

...Actually I did. Feeling pretty stupid. Still, stacking more good games on after the disappointment that was Ultimate Tenkaichi doesn't hurt!

Oh this one will be good, I'll promise you that, it's being made by Arc System Works, the guys responsible for Guilty Gear, Blazblue and Persona 4 Arena, these guys know how to make fantastic games and you can tell when they're having fun making a game because they'll add little toutches that no other company would bother to do.

Is Ultimate Tenkaichi really that bad?
I played it maybe twice at a friends house and i didn't think it was awful
Maybe i just haven't played it enough
But i really liked how you could blow up the environment and it would stay like that the remainder of the battle
The graphics and art style were really nice too
Gameplay was ok from what i remember

Yeah Arc System Works already made two DBZ fighting games and they were fantastic
Super Sonic Warriors 2 is one of my favorite DS games

The gameplay in the story mode was pretty much "Dodge this thing the boss is doing" and sometimes it was clunky.
The versus gameplay was just alright.
The character creator, which was supposed to be the biggest draw, only let you create male saiyans.

There was something else, but I don't remember. Overall it was just a big disappointment for me, it wasn't "terrible" per se.

So what I'm gathering is that Ultimate Tenkaichi is the Brink of DBZ fighting games?

DBZ game? Let me guess, only playing as super sayian 4 anything is worth it and boss characters.

rip, Kid Goku.
The Butoden series ALWAYS had a focus on balance. Ultimate Battle 22 (as horrid as that game was) was a good example. SS3 Goku was powerful, but otherwise trash compared to the rest of the cast. Hell, even Hercule was broken with a wide array of (energy-free) projectiles and juggles.
