Just wait a few weeks/months/years. They will be available at some time.

I'm thinking this was a test from Nintendo to see how well these things would sell. We'll probably be getting more around December after Smash hits Japan.

I'm pretty sure they won't be producing anymore until they see how they do overseas.

Oh hell. The adapters are gonna end up on the black market now. Wars will start to obtain one.
Humanity will crumble and die.

Good thing I got one off ebay already. :U

That tweet was just eb games taking a guess imo.

Let's be logical. The ONLY way to play smash 4 on Wii u with a GameCube controller is to have the adapter. Now, I'd they stopped making the adapter, that means they would have to have stopped making GameCube controllers at this point since in 2014 2015 GameCube controllers are really only bought for Smash. Now, they have made it very clear that they want smash to be able to be played with GameCube controllers. It only seems logical that they would make more eventually and sell them for the same price. There is no way they would have put all this effort and hype into making smash u GameCube controller playable for them to just say "we changed our minds" after seeing a crazy demand for them.

It also benefits them financially. There is a high demand for a product they sell, so financially it also makes logical sense to continue producing them

They may be trying to not overproduce the adapters right now. However, I'm sure they will produce more considering how much of a demand there is for them.

Lying about my country.
If you wanted one at release, you should have preordered it, that was obvious enough from the very start as the demand was high as ****.

But this is actually pretty surprising, I really thought they'd keep making these at least for as long as Smash remained relevant.

Why would Nintendo stop making the adapters this early? Surely the demand is high enough for them to bundle it with a fightpad.

I did..... And then Gamestop went and sold mine even though I had it preordered and I paid for it in full! Sooo salty.... At least my Hori Fight Pad does the job pretty well.

"Haha" and "apparently" do not an authoritative source make.

It's funny, in every wal-mart, best buy, future shop, eb games, gamestop, and other store that sells consoles/games that I go into, there are between 4 and 8 nintendo gamecube smash controllers sitting on the shelves. But no adapters to be found anywhere.

I suspect Nintendo will re-stock their adapters eventually, or else those controllers will just sit there forever, collecting dust. As for me, I bought a wired fightpad (yoshi-style) and it works great for me. Plus it works with more than one game.

I called up Nintendo Australia (after first trying every retailer to no avail) and I bought one over the phone, which they have sent. I don't know if I was just very lucky to snag one of the last few, or if they are still sitting on stock in PAL regions. But then, why wouldn't they get that stock out to retailers? Either way I'd suggest calling Nintendo directly, you might get lucky and they will have some in your area, or you could preoder one for the next batch.

Yeah right.

Well if Smash still sells, so will the adapter.

How much did they end up charging you for the adapter? Just so I know the Australian price. I might order another for a friend. I'll think about it, if they still have any left.

If you are a UK person and ordered the Smash + GC adapter bundle from Amazon:

"Hello,
Due to a late supply of stock, your order for "Nintendo GameCube Controller Super Smash Bros Edition (Nintendo Wii U)" from your order #00000 will be delayed. You should receive this item by Tuesday, 2 December 2014.
As a token of good will, we'd like to offer you a £3 Gift Certificate to spend on any video game product sold and dispatched by Amazon.co.uk. This code is valid until 23:59 on 31 March, 2015."

Has to suck if you bought that bundle from Amazon UK.

They will produce more. The game is selling well so why not make more? Money money money.

"Apparently"
This is BS. They're just trying to make it seem all the more rare. Just In-case they do sell one they could sell it for an absurd price.
I also talked to the game store nearby. And they said they will be getting separate GC adapters sometime in December. They do sell the Smash GC controllers though.

Not to mention they still have the bundle with the GC controller. But I already have the game and I can't bring myself to paying for it because it's overpriced. (120 bucks -_-)

this sounds like a plot to make the price on ones that are available skyrocket more.

Unless theres a post somewhere FROM Nintendo, its all hogwosh. Why would a company stop producing a product thats in high demand? But it does make sense they cant produce as fast as they sell.

**** Nintendo, **** Amazon, **** EVERYONE WHO EVER MADE THE ADAPTER!

I pre-ordered my copy months before the game even released to America, and I still didn't receive the game her in the UK. I find it incredibly stupid that Nintendo/Amazon can't even manage such a simple task. My delivery got extended to the 19th of december, and thats not were it ****ing stops!, they actually canceled my order yestarday? WTF? I'm not even going to be able to play the game anymore...

Does anyone from the UK here even have the game?...

Well I guess Nintendo won't be getting my money. I'm not desperate enough just to settle for whatever.

I guess it's best to leave this kinda thing on time and wait. I'm sure that whatever replacements will be just fine when you find a good one, and when the adaptor comes, it's just even better.

I received an email from a Nintendo rep who said that they are expecting retailers to receive more adapters "soon". I don't know what "soon" means, but keep an eye out over the next month or so, I guess.

It means stop emailing them and to tell all of your friends to stop emailing too.
