I've never seen Shovel Knight played before. It actually looks kinda cool.

I am able to watch the stream, but alas, no Smash Bros. for right now... Not much time left on the stream for today, if I'm not mistaken. Trying to remember when the stream went offline yesterday, but I know it's not long from now.

Probably the give some more variety to the stream.

I love Smash, but you can only watch scrubs play for so long in FFAs or whatever. They don't always have skilled players at the controller, and since it's the demo, you're getting a limited amount of variety in stages/characters. Just like anything, given enough time, it gets old. BUT, toss some Shovel Knight and random crap in there, and now you're ready to watch more Smash Bros.

Or at least, that's my reasoning.

xD The only reason I thought there might be a reveal is because people claimed to have seen Sakurai, but nope.

i didn't watch the whole stream, but i'm pretty sure the only celebrity guest other than scar (who really isn't even a celebrity tbh) was merle from the walking dead.
the other two points are only half valid. you don't see hype every day for takamaru's game or random nes games like you see hype for smash.

We cant think every time they say we are showing a suprise that omg it must be a character reveal and then get mad when nothing showed up but celebrities and challenges which I had no problem with. Cmon ppl lets lower our expectations we just got three characters not to long ago.

I must have missed that, because I certainly don't remember that. I remember waiting a majority of the time and the whole Young Link fiasco from yesterday, when as soon as someone mistook Toon Link for Young Link, everyone went nuts in the comments "Young Link confirmed!", "Young Link is back!" etc.

Ill agree with you there I do want the awesome falco back but to me the chances just seemed so slim and the trolls in the chat took a hold of ppls faith and starting yelling oh look Sakurai or random confirms or hey guys check the website. I guess to some ppl the chances were likely but I didnt really think so

Yeah, I did a video early yesterday saying that I wouldn't be surprise, I suppose the idea got to my head a little due to me freaking out when nothing happened. That'd be pretty cool actually. Honestly, I think the main reason I wanted a new character was so that I'd be able to do a video on the stuff covered right away, unlike my last one where I ended up covering the Mii's, Palutena, Pac-Man, Lucina, Captain Falcon, Robin, and my predictions all in less than 30 minutes in 3 days...yeah, that's the last time I put a video off! XD

that's not what i mean. what i'm pointing out is that they've put much more emphasis on smash in these streams than any other specific title, and the hype for smash is much bigger than the hype for takamaru's game being localized with the hype for virtual console nes games combined and nintendo knows this.

If I still played Melee, both would be true. I played Mewtwo and DK in that game, way back when. Didn't really play Brawl, much, after I beat the SSE. I didn't hate it or anything, it just didn't have the same charm as Melee for me.

I understand, but in the Facebook/Twitter/whatever post, it didn't say it was going to be a Smash Bros. surprise, now did it? That's the assumption most people made, but all it says is "special surprises." They just turned out to not be all that special.

no, but they have focused mostly on smash and there has not been a reveal for smash, a highly anticipated game on a stream that has focused mainly on smash, and there's still one more day. judging by how nintendo responds to these types of situations, i think it's safe to say that it's a pretty big possibility that they'll reveal something about smash tomorrow.

If I still played Melee, both would be true. I played Mewtwo and DK in that game, way back when. Didn't really play Brawl, much, after I beat the SSE. I didn't hate it or anything, it just didn't have the same charm as Melee for me.

Smash made such an impact on my gaming life, so I made CERTAIN that I kept all games, but I mainly have Brawl for PM now though. Hopefully Mewtwo can make his glorious return for this new game.

That's pretty much the gust of it. Some smash was shown but not more than a match or two, and I don't remember seeing Smash Run at all truth be told. They focused on weird challenges that went on for most of the day. While Challenges themselves can be interesting, I'm not sure it's what people wanted from NIntendo's main stream. Maybe that could've been a side stream and they just could show gameplay footage of games coming out soon on the main one, I dunno.
