Is it worth it?
I have not played the game but being the sonicteam fanboy I am, I have thought about grabbing a copy, but it has gotten mixed reviews around the net.
Anyone's opinions or thoughts on the game so far?

EDIT: Now that I have the game and have finished it, this is my renewed review from the old review.
Review:
Gameplay - 8/10 - That's what the game is loved so much for and now I clearly see why once again. The flying mechanics are great and what makes these sort of games the jewels they are. The human parts are annoying, but not quite as bad as what one might state. The only bad point I would put is there aren't enough levels, it felt a little short to me.
Control - 8/10 - The control scheme is about average, but I will say after testing all modes the gamecube controller is by far my favorite. The controls feel a little bit loose on the classic controller. After finishing the game, the controls were fine after all.
Story - 3/10 - The story really doesn't make a difference how you play the game, but it really isn't that well done and does feel somewhat fruity. It's not that hard to get over though.
Graphics - 8/10 - Really nice rendering work all around. NiGHTs model was well done and so was most of the characters. Two areas that the team got noticably lazy was in the Dream Gate and in the My Dream: Very basic rendering seen here. Other then that nothing to complain about.
Sound/Music - 8/10 - Music sounds trippy as always and make every stage enjoyable. The sound effects felt a tad average.
Learning curve - Medium - Takes the average player who never played this game before about 10 - 20 minutes to have basic control over NiGHTs.
Overall - 8/10. - A game with solid gameplay (mostly) and decent controls that has a fruity storyline. Take as you will but this game is simply put a jewel to have on the Wii. Not many new Wii games are at this level yet.
(I have finished the game and the rating is about the same... yippie)

I got this game for my roommate for Christmas so I'll have some impressions for you soon.

I have this. Some of the levels are so much fun that it makes the entire game worth the price. But some others are a big pain. It also gets a little repetitive. I've only played a little, though.

I hear it's pretty much the same as the Saturn game, so I guess I'll pick this up eventually and not use the wiimote to play it.

That's some nice feedback I'm hearing there: I had no concern about the stages in NiGHTs being glorious and well done in the first place since it looked a lot like the Saturn's gameplay.
The main three issues I was concerned with were these:

-The human gameplay- How much do you do you play as the humans? I heard from a few sources that it was absolutely annoying and mundane on these parts.
-"My Life"- I (and every other person who played Sonic Adventure 2) loved the Chao Garden feature. How is the "My Life" feature in relation to that? From early screenshots it looked as though it had horrible 3d renders and cheap textures. I was also wondering how the system seems to work.
-Dialogue and storyline- I heard and read it was fantastically cheesy but I would like a definitive Smash Bros Fan's opinion on that (no idea why though)

Anyhow, I'm sure these three are the big points of concern for most people who would buy/play this game. I think... any thoughts on these game owners of NiGHTs?

Well, I dunno about the Wii game, but the human part in Saturn was annoying, so I can't see it changing much, and there wasn't much story or any dialog in the original, but I wouldn't buy it for that so I don't care.

Ironic folks, I actually got NiGHTs for Christmas this year! While I was happy to open it up, I've yet to play it extensively... more to come! I'll try to give a definitive review of this game (later).
So far what I've picked up:
Pros: Controls aren't horrible and the basics are very easy to learn. Overall gameplay is great.
Cons: The story is completely fruity. I don't like it.

EDIT: My review will be placed in the first post along with other goodies and reviews. So yeah.

I'm bumping this thread because this game is worth discussing. I finished NiGHTS about two days ago and this game was definitely enjoyable for me.
Anyone else has an opinion on how this game looks/plays?

I rented it and found it better than I tought(I used the gamecube controller,it's just better),but I would have liked them to delay the game and make it better...it's rushed.

Just bought the game today, and I've never played a NiGHTs game before...

It seems pretty good, but I haven't played it too much yet. Send me a PM if you want to check out my dream world. Note that its a work in progress. :)
