Yoshimitsu is either a demon fighting ninja-dude, or a well meaning member of the Manji Clan (Depending on which game you're talking about).

With Snake already in the game, the door for third party characters is now open. Speculation has begun on which companies will try to bring in which characters for Brawl. Namco has been a shaky discussion. Some want Pacman, but others dislike the idea of Pacman in Brawl. So Here I come to you with a new suggestion. Yoshimitsu.

Yoshimitsu is from the Tekken and Soul Calibur games by Namco, and is indeed a very interesting character. He is a swordwielder, yes. But the way he fights is very unique. (Play the games he's in and you'll know what I'm talking about)

Anyway, here is my shot at a movelist:

Yoshimitsu:

Attributes:

Size: 4/5 (think Gannondorf)
Weight: 3/5
Speed: 3/5
Power: 4/5
Jump: 2/5

Attacks:

B: Sword Impale: When you begin to hold it, Yoshimitsu wind slowly pull his sword back, and the sword will glow. charge up time is a little longer than Gannondorf's Utilt. When the charge is done, Yoshimitsu will swiftly stab the blade forward, delivering 25-35% and alot of knockback. There are also several other options you have. If you release B and Press A quickly whille charging, Yoshimitu will spin the blade in front of him for two seconds, this will knock opponents away a little, and act as a defensive move. If you Release B and quickly press B again before the charge is done, Yoshimitsu will spin the blade once and whack the person in front of him with it. These moves however can only be done once the charge is halfway through. And if you release the B button before it is halfway though, you will still do the animation until it is halfway done. Then he will bring his sword back to normal postion.

->B: Shark Attack Combo: When you first press >B, Yoshimitsu will do a Solar Kick. That is, he will do a sort of flip, and kick the opponents while he is on his hands. If you quickly press B again (Think Marth's sword Dance) Yoshimitsu will lung forward in a barrel roll, covering a decent amount of distance. On the third press, he can do one of three things. If you simply press B, he will do a Kangaroo kick, in which he does another somersault and kicks upward while on his back. If you press vB, he will do another somersault and attack with a low stab. If you press ^B, he will proceed to do his recovery move, the Deathcopter. If this attack is done in the air, Yoshimitsu will extend all his limbs and spin twice in the air, hitting opponents on all sides. If this attack is done on the ground, he will spin the sword above his head, but not move. This would only hit airbourne opponents

^B: DeathCopter: Yoshimitsu will begin to swing his sword very quickly in a circle above his head, pulling himself upward at a mid-slow speed. This would hit all opponents above him with a disjointed hitbox (anti-edge guard, yay). vertical distance covered is a little less than Falco's ^B, and horizontal distance posible is a little less than DK. You are able to control his trajectory while flying. At the end of his flight, he will simply fall. But if you press vB while he is flying, he will fall quickly to the ground, sword extended slightly, and hit opponents in front of him (This would be a meteor smash). If you Press Back-B while he is flying, he will gain a small extra boost, turn around, and come down with the attack facing the other direction.

vB: Flea/Meditate: Upon pressing vB, Yoshimitsu will balance on his sword. If you double tap left or right on the control pad, he will dash three time in the specified direction, giving minimal damage and knockack. You can Shorthop and Full Jump while in the Flea stance, and whoever you land on will be hit by the sword (like link's Dair, but weaker). Pressing down would cancel the flea stance. If you press vB again while in the Flea stance, you will sit in the meditation stance, where Yoshimitsu will meditate and heal about 1-2% damage every second. Any input during meditation will cancel it. Being hit by any attack (other than fox's blaster (which would indeeed be a good counter for this move)) will cancel the meditation.

Super: I really have no Idea.

I'll come up with the rest of the moveset (the A attacks) tommorrow. Now I need to get to bed.

Even though I think that he would be a faster character, because in tekken 4 he seemed to be a fast and jumpy character. But still, Good Idea dude, would have never thought of that.

If one had to be in there, he'd be it. But would Namco pick someone like him over Pacman even? And would Nintendo allow it...?

Yashimitsu is not that bad of a character. In fact, in Soul Calibur 2 he was kind of a goofy sorta character. But in tekken he's way more serious. But look at snake. In his games, he come up behind people and kills them, and wields guns. If they can shoehorn him into SSBB without all the violence, they could certainly do the same for Yoshimitsu

I wasn't talking about yoshimitsu being a 7.0-7.5, I meant the GAME SC3. I thin it would be SC2. was tekken ever on Nintendo?

Nah, he was so... weird. Even IF they would pick a SC2 characters(I haven't played any Tekken game) then make it Ivy or Kilik.
Ow his super should be his Suicide attack: He would run to a target, turn around and stick his sword through his own body while hitting the other guy behind him wich will instantly kill both of them.

If Yoshimitsu was a Nintendo owned character then yes. In my opinion, the Yoshimitsu in SC was better than Tekken's. I always liked his style in SC.

However, since he is a Namco char, then obviously no. Namu, namu, namu?

It's SC2 official art.

I really didn't get your explaination....

And I don't think Namco would pick Ivy or Killik over Yoshimitsu (Ivy's a *****, btw). Namco seems to like Yoshimitsu, I mean why else would he jump franchises to be included in both SC and Tekken?

And no, Tekken was never on Nintendo, but SC2 was on Gamecube (and it had Link!) That's why all the moves on my moveset are coming from SC2.

EDIT:
Eh, he was never on a nintendo console though......
Yeah he was, read this post

Am I suppose to know That?
I would like to have a soul caliber character (not Yoshimitsu) in SSBB even though they are third person. The reason is because they allowed :link: to be in SC2, but SC and SC3 aren't on Nintendo system so that probably means no. :(

The resons I don't want Yoshimitsu is because

1. He's from Tekken which isn't in Nintendo
2. He's sword style isn't as original as say Nightmare or Ivy
3. You can't call him just Yoshi because it will cause confusion :yoshi:

I would rather see one of these
1. Necrid
2. Astroth
3. Taki (step aside Zero-Suit Samus)
4. Kilik (unless Krystal is in)
5. Nightmare

Sorry.

I was just trying to say that Namco has a bunch of other characters to choose from, and that this character has also appeared in Sony and Microsoft games (Soul Calibur 3 was PS2-exclusive, remember?). I know the same arguments could be made about Snake, but I think that 3rd party characters should only submit one character at max. There may be better candidates for Brawl.

I was just thinking about this the other day. Yoshi would definetly be interesting, and oh the alternate costumes he would have.

I also think his UpB could be the Moonsault Slayer, a move he had in both Tekken and Soul Calibur, and his Left/RightB would be his Stoned Fists, which is always entertaining to watch.
