PokéPark Wii - Pikachu's Great Adventure
Screenshots:

System: Wii
What is known about the game:
Not much at all is known about the game at this point, besides Pikachu being the main character and the graphics being better than those of a WiiWare game (presumably, it takes place in a theme park?).

Looks pretty neat so far. :)

While at the park, Pikachu learns that to do the attractions, he will require the assistance of several Pokémon. These Pokémon are obtained through the Trial of Strength features where you partake in quizzes and battles. There are a variety of Pokémon to earn here.

Once you have the right Pokémon, you can partake in the attractions which include a water race called the Marine Slider, a Sky Race and a standard race. These are all controlled uniquely through the Wii Remote.

Please please please please please please please be a platformer / fighter combination game.

Pikachu actually looks pretty nice in the Lapras pic, though Lapras is a bit... polygony.

Meh, good graphics are overrated. As long as it's a good game and you can tell what the hell it is you're looking at, I'm sold. :3

I do agree that this should be Platformer/Fighter though. That would be incredible.

I agree, that's why I still play Halo 1 on my PC and have a Wii =P

This game could either be really good, or another one of those 'seeing things through the eyes of someone else (like a diver)'-Wii games. Either way, I'm sure it will pave the way for a fully-fledged Pokemon adventure game.

Hmmm... I'm not liking the look of those Kirby-style health bars. Hit Points, please.

Considering the look of the game mixed with the fact that this is a Pokemon game (meaning there will more than likely be a level system of sorts), I actually thought of the health bars being more LoZ in nature; which doesn't bother me in the least. Actually, I kind of even like it. It makes the damage system more simplistic, which then makes me think that the fighting style will be more real-time. And real-time Pokemon battling would be pretty awesome, no matter which way you slice it.

I'd even say that this may mark the start of a Pokemon gaming experience that's like playing the anime; although I might be getting too far ahead of myself with that. :\

Hmm, I never considered that.

I wonder if any other Pokemon will be playable? I'd love to run around as a Meowth, or soar as Charizard.

It turns out that this game will most probably be one of those non-serious party games except with Pokemon (and some action/exploration, I guess) in them.
Let's hope it's a quality game.

One thing I'd like to point out, looks like there's no lock-on combat (if there is any combat at all).

Idk. It might be auto-lock. I do agree that it looks like there's no lock-on system, but it could also just be because of what Pika is doing against Charizard (it looks like it's quickly dodging an attack).

Mewter, your post disappoints me. :( I wanted LoZ-styled Pogeymanz...

The combat system looks awfully boring just based on this video.
It's like playing Mario Party or Twilight Princess with no items, and only one or two attacks.

It looks like Pikachu is strafing to me, or using Quick Attack sideways.

EDIT: OH **** VID

Lock-on combat is there, I guess. Combat doesn't seem too boring.

EDIT2: Empoleon surfing? Looks kind of like a mini-game, I hope it's not...

Looks like a Pokemon themed Zelda with a bunch of minigames in a style from Stadium1+2.

I'd hit that.

I'd say that there's a "campaign" mode as well. Lots of dialogue.

I was just talking with a good friend of mine the other day about a Zelda-styled Pokemon game and look what we have here. I'm so glad this is shaping up to not just be a bunch of minigames, rather a whole world to explore as Pikachu (and from the looks of it, other Pokemon will be playable in some way or another).

I approve and will happily lay down $50 for this.

I really hope that either
1. There is no heavy usage of tedious combat
and / or
2. Combat consists of more than dodge, Thunderbolt, repeat

Well, if it gets boring for you, then there's always dodge, iron tail, repeat.
You have to mix it up, right? Nintendo had better make the battling system more than just a gimmick.

Well, personally, so long as it does better than PBR then I'm happy. I only really still play it because of the online. Speaking of which, any indication that Wi-fi'll be in this game?
