New to PM, need help finding main

I play melee and main captain falcon and marth and in sm4sh I main shulk,sonic and little mac, who would be a good character for me in pm?

I found my main by how much my friends hate it when I play that character(Peach). I am pretty sure that is why one of the guys I play with, mains Ike since most of us hate playing against Ike so much. So pick random characters till you start hearing complaints from your enemies :D just my two cents worth. Pick who they complain the most about, I could lose every match as long has I hear the groans when I select Peach

While I wouldn't necessarily agree with this, I will say that this is a good measure of figuring out how well you're able to see which of ___ character's options covers your friends' mains options, and how/why it works, and how effective/comfortable you are putting it into practice. Common correlation between this and complaints from friends you play often, but that doesn't mean this can't be "measured" otherwise (: You can just try be more aware of your option coverage and "accuracy/precision" in making the character move and perform the way you wanted them to in your head.

If you want to find a P:M main, then you have to be open about it.

Ask around, do a bit of research. I always find which characters I can apply my skills to and use them.

For example, a good aerial player would consider Marth. A cheap noob would choose Sanic.

Play to your strengths.

After going through the roster a couple of times there is no one that is sticking out. Is it a time thing?

Just play ganon and float around punching and kicking people on hard reads.

But real talk: marth and falcon are really similar to their melee selves. Why don't you care for them? You want a different experience? Trying not to mess up game specific timings and stuff?

I don't care for falcon cause there something that just feels.. off, as for marth he seems to be my best bet as of right now, and trying to learn the new timing is probally going to be easier with time

I would recommend either Diddy or Pit. Both have good aerials (like Marth), have good killing options(Diddy with down/forward smash and F-airs and Pit with Up special and U-air). As for approaching Diddy can use banana to grab and use up throw to start a deadly combo. Pit however, is some times smash 64-ish by zoning with arrows and then landing a F-air or a grab which can be followed by Up or Down throw to start a combo. I'm fairly new to the competitive scene so feel free to correct me I play Pit and Marth and my friend plays Diddy so that's where I got my knowledge. Hope this helps
