New technique: Sprint Cancelled Upsmash

Hey guys, I'm not sure if this is brand new so please let me know if this has been seen before.

Anyway, while playing around with brawler I noticed I pulled off an upsmash that slid very far across the stage, much like the dacus of old. Well, I'm happy to relay that I figured out how to replicate this after some time in training mode.

This works on both small and normal brawler to nearly double their distance slid into an upsmash out of sprint. the secret is in the timing. Essentially, if you charge your upsmash after the initial dash animation, right as the sprinting animation begins, you'll gain a huge momentum boost and nearly double the slide length going into your upsmash. This is about a half second after the initial dash. It's particularly noticeable with tiny brawler who can slide about 1/3 the distance of FD.

Give it a shot, you'll know it when you get it :)

I haven't heard of this before or done it on accident but it sounds interesting... Especially if it's better than a jump-cancelled USmash. Will try to get it. There's no other inputs aside from the dash and the upsmash?

Villager has the same thing. See the second tech http://smashboards.com/threads/villagers-at-compilation-thread.386962/
Also here. http://smashboards.com/threads/new-grab-cancel-slide-technique-with-video.380464/#post-18132870 - don't listen to anyone else XD, this guy was right. At first they thought it was a grab cancel U-smash or something, but just ignore that.
Anyway, the villagers were eventually able to make it work for other moves other than U-smash. You might want to look into that.

Yes, this is the same technique! Nice find there. Brawler gets more distance in his though :) I tested it with a couple other characters and didn't notice anything, I suppose villager has the right dash and run animations for it to work.

I'll see if there is any utility for some b specials with it, hopefully it can help us catch opponents off guard. Unfortunately it's really not a quick technique because it takes 30 or so frames, but it's still cool and probably has some nice uses. Hopefully it gives his 100+ %killing game a boost.

Also, I'll see about posting a video too.
