Smash Hero
Well I haven't been online in past few days due to school. And since I day-dream alot in school I thought I'd like to put some things you guys can try and see if it works for you. For some, they've worked for me.
Reverse Hyphen Smash
Well, we all know the regular hyphen smash right? Where you just simply run and just do a upsmash and slightly cover a better distance. And we all know how Luigi's upsmash has a bigger range, hitbox, knockback from behind right? So.. instead of regular hyphen smashing, do a reverse hyphen smash. Simply just run and quickly slap the opposite direction of where you were running and do a upsmash. Results are much better. (Note, YOU MUST HAVE TAP JUMP ON)
Out of shield Shoryuken/Upsmash
Speaking of tap jump on... this one I'm going to cover helps you much better in your OOS game. I'm pretty sure people don't think Luigi doesn't have OOS options but he does as well. Not very many people do a OOS shoryuken but it is really helpful. Of course people get discouraged on landing it because of Luigi's low traction when he takes a full blown knockback hit. So if someone tries to attack you with a weak attack or strong attack, simply just hold the shield, bust out a shoryuken to their face when they don't expect it. OOS upsmash works too espically if their behind you. Also, of course you need tap jump on for this.
(Note: Does luigi's shoryuken have invcibility frames 1-5 like Marths? someone fill in. It would be glady appreciated)
Taunt spiking/pressuring
This is very occasional. You'll probably land like 1-3 or probably none depending on how good your oppnenet is. Jabs to taunts work as well. Occasionally they won't expect it. When their recovering, you can throw a taunt and hope that they can get spiked or frightened abit.
Green missling offstage for gimps
Sometimes moderately or occasionally. Whenever your oppenent is trying to recover, throw a charged green missle at them and luckily get them. This works with the "zap jump" (look at Loucan's strats thread). But this has alot of downsides to it. First off, if you get a misfire and miss, you basically off the screen and very easy to get yourself gimped, secondly people with inhales like D3/Kirby just totally ruins this tech. Thirdly it's completely unsafe and high risk/high reward. Sometimes I get a occasional kill from a misfiring.
Ftilt
This move seems to be highly underused and underrated. This move, I'd probably say one of his best ground moves in his ground move set. You can keep a fresh Fsmash for the future and just use this Ftilt. Ftilt comes out fast and has little ending lag. It has decent priority, knockback and semi-range. It's great for a spacing tool. It can generally stop aerial approachs if you up tilt it. You can do a ftilt lock if your enemy fails to tech. Also it's great for followups. SH fireball walls to Ftilts have never failed me worked against D3/Mk if you know what your doing. I highly suggest for any player to invest this in their game.
Fireballs
Pretty straight forward. Without this move, you won't win or your chances of losing will be higher. If you've read Sparked's fireball guide you'll understand why it *****. Great for making walls, traps, setups, offensive/defensive tactics, it's green, more of a arm extension and when you SH fireball, you'll receive no landing lag.
Usages of tap jump "on" and "off"
Tap jump on = Reverse hyphen smashing, out of shield shoryuken/upsmash
Tap jump off = Easier to pull off Up angled Fsmashs/Ftilts, upairs/utilts.
If you've played Melee, tap jump off shouldn't apply to you. I highly recommend tap jump on for anyone.
Well I'm pretty tired. Discuss now~
