I think it means just swimin matches with characters not an actual swimming game. Like remember in Melee you could check the total air distance, and land distance traveled by a character during all of the cumulative matches?

I could be wrong though.

you're looking too far into it. some levels have water to swim on, and the game keeps track of how far you walk, jump, swim, whatever, so that's probably all it is.

yea but swimming was never in the game so maybe he included some sort of swimming tech that lets you try and come back from. like jumping you get 2 strokes or something lol idk.

Ok but still. . . that would be quite a hard trophy to unlock if it's not a stadium game, and it's also one of the firsts trophys Sakurai has shown us unlocked, so I think it would be relatively easy to unlock. Via a new stadium game :)

There were trophies unlocked by total ground distance and the likes too in Melee. This is the same, but for stages like Delfino Plaza only.

It definitely just means the distance covered in water. When characters fall in water, they don't die anymore like they did in great bay, so they swim, and that's what that's referring to.

exactly, besides 300 ft. is an incredibly short distance for all of the characters combined. There is no way that constitutes an event match being dedicated to it. Its simply a stat that happens to yield a trophy at a certain point, im sure you most likely get another trophy through a certain amount of combined walking/air/etc... distance.

Swimming is a confirmed technique, this is not Mario and Sonic at the Olympics, there really isn't need (or want) for a swimming game in the stadium.

You know in delfina plaza when you finally get to that little island place and you can jump in the water and swim around a bit.
Thats what it means.
