Young Link (Mask Set)
Wolf Link & Midna

It would be overkill because there are more characters than just Link in the series. Why not include the blue pig Ganon? He's been in more games than Ganondorf, has a different body type (so he wouldn't be a clone), and uses a trident.
Tetra? If Sakurai can make Sheik into a workable ninja fighter, he can do the same for Tetra, and make her a workable pirate fighter.

WW Ganondorf? Sure it's the same person, but he's easily the most liked version and even uses not one, but TWO swords.

And then there's the non-Link, non-Zelda, non-Ganon characters, such as Tingle, Impa, Vaati, Ghirahim, Midna, Groose, Skull Kid, etc.

Long story short, we don't need a crapton of Links, otherwise it'd be unfair to Ganon and Zelda, and we also have a bunch of other characters to use that aren't any of those three.

If Geno is getting in Smash, this is his prime time. Especially because I'm pretty sure Sakurai tried to add him during Brawl's development. Now, he knows the ropes. Sonic, Snake, Geno, Slime. That would be awesome.

Don't worry, I wasn't being serious in that one. I do love Geno and would love to see him in action again, someday. But Smash can wait him.

The problem with Midna alone is you never really see her in a lot of action when alone in Twilight Princess. She works more and better when she is riding Link[why does that sound dirty?].

The thing is, Link is more than one character, and all of those characters are the most important in every Zelda game. Also, he is the only playable character in the Zelda games, too.
It may or may not be a stupid idea to put multiple Links in Sm4sh. But of one thing I'm certain: It's NOT wrong.

And I'd love to see them[with the exception of Tingle, I mean, come on!].
Those are characters that appeared once or twice in the series and were never taken as seriously as they should.
I always wanted to see Vaati in the game, but he didn't even appear as a friggin' sticker [did he?] in Brawl, so I kinda lost my faith. Not to mention he was THE MAIN VILLAIN of 3 Zelda games. Ghirahim is like, a goon in ONE game. It's not that I don't want them, I just don't EXPECT them...

I made mine with it. I'm still holding off on a Fire Emblem character until Chrome's game is out, but I'm leaning on him at the moment.

@Kirbunny: Love your roster except for the removal of Jigglypuff. That severely irks me and would actually make me avoid the game. Original 12 must stay for me. As well as two-time veterans. All places where palutena was on the menu is replaced by viridi (Including offerings) and the main hub area bg is replaced with viridi's hub
