When you throw the pokeball you order the pokemon

to make a move.

for example(when you throw a pokeball and clefairy comes out you press up:move number1
down:move number2
)

i say, if you throw a pokeball at someone, it has a 10 percent chance of catching them versus bouncing off.... they escape after 3 seconds with 30-40 damage more

Does sound intresting. Problem is that new players to the game wouldn't know what direction corrosponts that what move. So maybe if it did have 2 moves, you held a direction while it was coming out of the Pokeball, but if you didn't it would just do one randomly. Also how would that work for Clefairy who uses metronome and already has loads of moves?

maybe that should be an
easter egg or something
not really 'known'

maybe you can press a direction for 'categories'
of pokemon, but only you have
"seen them in the game" lol
(like scizor and marril are in the same category
because they both charge at the opponent)

No. That gives to much power to a player with additional knowledge.

One thing that would be cool but will obviously won't happen is if you could connect Pearl/Diamond with SSBB. Then if you have seen certain pokes they can become available in the pokeballs.

what if the D-pad controls the movement of the pokemon?

you summon say like staryu, and while you are fighting your opponent you control staryu to chase him around while it is doing its preset attack ( the beams).

that would be awesome. but very difficult as the d-pad and move analog are at the same thumb and C stick is used for smash attacks.

rats..

A very interesting idea. But i agree with 1800P. You wouldn't be able to move both you and the pokemon while stilll being able to do everything. It'd make it more complicated than it needs to be.

Nice idea tho.
