First and foremost, welcome. As some of you may know, a member by the name of Toadsteroven created this thread

However, since then, the number of crews have grown....but the actual OP has yet to be tampered with! So, with that thought in mind, I set out to find a brave warrior who would undertake this very important task. Finding no one worthy, I have taken it upon myself to ensure that Smashboards' Online Crews are kept organized and up-to-date. A lot of the basic guidelines will be taken from that thread, but with a few added changes to the ranking system. Without further ado, let's begin/
Note:
If you want your crew to participate in a lot of crew battles, don't just wait for other crews to pose challenges! Challenge them yourself. This will make other crews want to pose more challenges in the future, making the activity on this section flourish.
On that note, if you want to join a crew, don't be afraid to ask a crew's captain, if a certain crew interests you. Posting in the thread, something along the lines of "What crew needs members? I wanna join one" will get you nowhere. Think of it as a job application. Very rarely will crew captains look around the thread for crew members. So go for it! :3
The "Guest" rule is being changed, to be a guest in a crew battle you can NOT be in another crew. The only people able to be guests are people without a crew. Also...... Make sure that you're only in ONE crew or you may be notified about being in multiple crews.

Hi this is The Hype Crew and we're a crew built of smashers from pretty much every game except 4, we're looking to make our mark in the smash 4 scene tho. We're small for now(but hoping to recruit many more people soon) we're sadly a 3DS exclusive Crew for now but like stated above we'd like to expand to Wii U very soon. Teams/Crews are like family the same way you and a group of friends/colleagues are considered "family". Therefore, joining an OTL team/crew or making your own is a commitment in that its your responsibility to stay active and keep up with your new family. It is up to the leader(s) to keep up with all aspects of their team/crew including updating the roster as people both come and go, (hey it happens.) keeping track of Team/Crew Battles won and lost, etc
1.Name your team/crew something sensible. Nothing stupid like "I Did Your Mum" or downright inappropriate like "Heil Hitler: Modern Day Nazis" and make sure its a name easy to remember and is short and to the point. No "XXX_HaRdCoRE SuhMaSHerZ_GiT ReKt N00b_XXX" Try "Seasoned Smashers" instead When you are done creating your crew, make a post in this thread letting the rest of us know and so this thread can be updated.
2. As far as advertising your team/crew goes, putting something like "Interested in joining an OTL crew? PM me for more info about the Iron Wolves" in your signature is fine. Blatantly advertising your team/crew is NOT fine! Example: "HEY GUYZ YOU SHOULD TOTALLY LIKE JOIN MY OTL TEAM"

You are allowed to make a banner for your team as visual representation for your team/crew is useful for those in touch with the visual side of their brains and is much easier for some than remembering a mere name. Again, nothing offensive/inappropriate should be in your team/crew banner. No huge *** banners either. They should be a size appropriate for the forums. If you need an idea of the length for images allowed, I would suggest getting in contact with one of the admins who run SmashBoards like WarChamp7 or simply read the rules and guidelines for SmashBoards. If you or any of your friends lack artistic skills, feel free to PM me with a lengthy enough description of what exactly you want in your banner and I will try to match to those specifications as best I can.
Now its time to get to the meat and bones of crews. BATTLES!!!! What good is joining/making a crew if you can't battle with other crews? Once there are at least a few teams/crews that have been formed and are ready to battle, Crew Battles will commence! Starting one is simple, there will be a thread dedicated to Crews complete with a list of which members are a part of which crew. This very thread will in addition to listing various teams will also double as a rankings thread. so you can know which crews are good and which would be on your crew's skill level. PM the leader of the opposing team and challenge them to a crew battle. If both he/she and the leader of your team (unless you are said leader) agree, a crew battle shall begin!
Name the terms and conditions of your battle. i.e best 3 out of 5 overall with each battle consisting of one member from your team and one member from the opposing team battling to the best 3 out of 5. As crew leader, you and the leader of the opposing team should try to match up your crew mates in a way that's as fair as can be. i.e don't send your strongest member against the opposing teams weakest member and vice versa. More rules (that are reasonable) should be decided upon before the crew battle starts (set up a reasonable time for both parties and be sure to PM everybody in your crew of this development well in advance.)

The juicy stuff. I will be hosting events now and again, as mini-tournaments for the crews to enter. These tournaments WILL give you normal BP by winning a battle, but win the tournament, and you'll get bonus BP as well (amount to be decided, but between 5-10 BP sounds nice)
Each crew will receive 3 Battle Points each time they win a crew battle. A crew cannot lose BP, until further notice. This is still in a testing stage, but it feels far too unfair to the less experienced crews if they lose BP each time they lose.
If a crew is B or A rank, losing a crew battle loses you 2 BP.
If a crew is S rank, losing a crew battle loses you 5 BP
F rank: 0 BP - 4 BP
E-rank: 5 BP - 9 BP
D-rank: 10 BP to 19 BP
C-rank: 20 BP to 34BP
B-rank: 35 BP to 59 BP
A-rank: 60 BP to 99 BP
S-rank - 100 BP

We go by a different name as well, but this is the name we've all agreed upon and liked. We're actually a branch of a different clan which died due to the inactivity of the leader, and we only started off with 7 members, but slowly built up to who we are now. We got an upwards of 30 members, although now that I have kicked a few inactive members, we are now only at 20 members.
