New items?

Seems to me that the Item updates are only ever going to be about the new items, and none of the old ones. I think we can expect to see most of the old ones make a comeback, though.

Anyway, I'll get to the point. Just wondering if there was anyone who preferred the new items to the ones we all know and love. Is the Super Spicy Curry ever going to have a place in our hearts the way the Beam Sword and Bob-ombs have?

items are okay and sum of them can be fun, all in all its nice to have, the good thing is u dont have to em .
as for item updates i dont really like them but the good part is the additional screenshots we get with item updates

Me for example . I lack people who would play competitively around, so I basically play FFAs with almost all items on. I don't fancy 1vs1 that much either, so no true problem there. So I want there to be fun items (the curry thing doesn't really qualify too much, IMO), and I want the best of them to come back.

So not everyone is against item updates. Just lame item updates, such as the banana peel . The smoke ball or the cracker launcher I like a lot.

About items I want to see returning... the fan, the baseball bat and the beamsword have always been favorites of mine. The bob-ombs are nifty too. But then, I'm not really a man who can argue with the excessive application of explosives theory for problem solving

some cool items(maybe not cool) that i think might make it in would be:

1. Link's slingshot
2. A Ring from the Sonic series
3. Some cool gun that shoots an element depending what character you are.(ex. Roy, he would shoot fire. and for the characters like Kirby who dont really have an element it will just shoot reg. gunshots or light.)

these items most likely will not make it but might be cool. i wouldn't be surprised if they didnt make it.

Yeah,when I play with my friends we always play with items.That's pretty much the whole point of the game,having fun.

Ah, I love the banana peel. I can't wonder why it wasn't in smash 64!

Spicy curry actually didn't suit my taste because it sounds like a transformation item which I abhor. IBut we can't compare Brawls limited selection so far with Melee's vast selection cause they both have lame and cool items. Lets wait till more items are revealed.

Unless they have new features (Crates and Barrels), or something else (Bumper) I don't think that we'll be getting item updates that involve the ones from the past. Actually if we do, I would expect multiple items covered in one day. (I'm also surprised that Sakurai hasn't gone over the different types of items. It'd be a good way to cover a bunch of the old ones)
