After playing Twilight Princess and after I learned the 3rd hidden skill, I realized that tha would make a cool attack to pull off mid-roll. do you think that characters should have attacks that you can use during a roll?
it'd cause a lot of mindgaming in my opinion.
discuss unless it's already been said.

Well you could sort of argue that the 'Attack in mid-roll' would be no better than simply wavedash-smashing.

Which is what I'm pointing out.

In fact, I say it's better, since while wavedashing you are not invulnerable like you are when you roll. If you could attack half-way into the invulnerable roll it would be pretty imba IMO.

Visiting from above.
Have you seen the new rolls? Check the trailers, in the second one, two people roll. The rolls' speed have been increased incredibly, making the time you spend rolling almost nonexistant. There's no reason to be able to attack DURING a period of invulnerability that's THAT quick. There'd be no possible way to react and stop it, you'd have to guess you're opponent's next move. With old rolling, it's an interesting idea, but with the new, sped-up rolling, there's really no need. You're back on your feet and ready to attack in no time.

That would get really cheap IMO. Kids could spam it like crazy, but it could bring out many more strategies for spacing.

This is true McFox, and I'm just pointing out the obvious here so don't think im implying you don't know this.

Roll's, no matter how fast are still going to pale in usefullness compared to the wavedash in that they send you a set distance, you can't attack during them, and they're predictible, no matter how fast.

Roll's ARE useful though, anyone thats like ''I dun roll!! i only wavedash cuz im that pro!'' will get owned, rolling is an essential skill, but roll spam is punishble by death by knee.

So im happy to see roll's sped up. Hopefully the new roll and a possible wavedash or whatever other movement techniques we find combined together will make for some tricky mindgames.

A set-distance roll is an assumption that we can't make at this point. There could be a few different ones (i.e. like how jump is to short hop). That would certainly be an improvment over the current rolls.

Of course, it's pretty doubtful, but I'm just saying there's no assurance of rolls being fixed-distance again. And obviously I'd take wavedashing over that in a heartbeat, but both would be cool :p
