Name: Kururin
First Game Appearance: Kuru Kuru Kururin (Japan and Europe only)
Release Date: 2001
Platform: Nintendo Game Boy Advance

WORKS:
Kuru Kuru Kururin (Nintendo Game Boy Advance)
Kururin Paradise (Nintendo Game Boy Advance)
Kururin Squash! (Nintendo GameCube)

STATUS:

Weight: 2/5
Size: 3/5
Power: 3/5
Jump: 4/5
Speed: 3/5

BRIEF INFO: Kururin is a bird that flies an odd-looking helicopter, known as the Heririn, as well as by himself. His teacher name Teacher Hare taught him how to fly the Heririn. In the Kururin series, Kururin helped save his brothers and sisters, as well as Teacher Hare and Kururin's mother. His Heririn has several functions like submerging underwater, punch things nearby, and send out dust devils.

SPECIAL MOVES:

B: Dust Devil (The longer you hold B, the larger the whirlwind gets. Kururin spins continuously, until the player releases the B button to send out a small dust devil. Based on the whirlwind function of the Heririn in "Kururin Squash!")

Forward+B: Oar Splash (Takes two wet oars, and slap an opponent in front of him simultaneously. Originated from the oar/submarine function of the Heririn in "Kururin Squash!")

Down+B: Double Stretch Jab (Kururin shortly stretches both of his arms left and right simultaneously. He doesn't stretch them very long, he stretches them very short. Based on the punching function of the Heririn in "Kururin Squash!")

Up+B: Air Peck (Kururin flies diagonally upward at a high pace, and firmly pecks an opponent.)

SUPER SMASH MOVE: Heririn (Kururin jumps into the Heririn, and hits his opponents with it.)

Noooo! It Burns Us! LOL, seriously though...if Nintendo was absolutely deadset on throwing in a random character like Mr. Game&Watch...then sure, why not Kurin. Personally, I'd much rather see the little Blue Fellow on the right in your signature (I forgot his name...sorry).

Yeah someone mentioned Kururin!! He's great and all, but the only thing that concerns me is that the series isn't that popular outside of Japan.

EDIT: Master Shiek, the cute little character you were referring to was Demiru from Tomato Adventure.

HEy, Kururin looks kind of cute!

I also remember seeing a trophy about Kururin, only it didn't look like a bird. No, wait, now I remember, it's the Heririn. Kururin flew in it, right?

I think would be a unique addition to Brawl.

Yes, Brawlmatt202, Kururin is the pilot of the Heririn.

Kururin doesn't count as a Japan-Only character, because Kuru Kuru Kururin, the first title of the series, was also released in Europe. Why was it released in Europe and Japan, but not in North America? Here are two theories I believe are true:

* Nintendo of Europe thought it would help sell the Game Boy Advance. The game probably didn't sell really well or didn't become very popular.

* Nintendo of America not only thought it looked too childish, but they probably also thought it wouldn't be easy enough for children to play it correctly.

Kururin is a puzzle series like no other, which is one thing that increases the character Kururin's chance at enter SSBB at least as a trophy.

After I looked around deviantART for some Kururin fan art, I only found this fan art, but it's mostly about Nintendo characters..

I saw the Japanese commercial for it. It certainly looked weird!

The commerical, that is.

The game looked challenging, as well. I don't know how long I would last playing it...

I love Kururin. The series was released in Japan and Europe, so it has been released outside of Japan, so it may be more "mainstream unknown" character. I was thinking about a Kururin thread myself for a while.

Well, only one out of three Kururin titles were released in Europe.

OK, enough about how lame Europe's game lineups are, Parrothead, I have an idea:

How about Kururin, fights regularly IN (I repeat, IN) the Heririn? I think it would make him a lot easier to recognise from his games, and could possibly open up more possibilities in combat. I know this may conflict with Starfox/F-Zero characters, but that would be because they would be more suitable for fighting when outside of their vehicles. I'm sure there could be certain times or an attack when he would leave Heririn. Maybe not as a transforming character, but, well I'm not sure how this would work but it's just an idea I thought you'd like to hear.

Pretty nice, but I guess Kururin is more likely at appearing as an Assist Trophy than a playable character.

And remember everyone, KURURIN IS NOT JAPAN-ONLY.

Wherever McFox tells me I am.
He sounds very interesting, I would be happy to see him - I agree the SSB needs more lesser known Nintendo characters. Ima 'bout to have to stop reading these character threads. Every time I read a good one, I get annoyed at the fact that this character may never see the Smash Brothers light that he/she deserves.

its a nice character, but i think tamagon, stafy, and demille have better chances as far as foreign character reps

wow this is THE STRANGEST character i have ever seen....now we know where Rayman's design ripped from...
Most people compared Rayman to Skapon, but I really dislike when people compare a lesser-known character to a well-known character that has similar things, such as looks, names, personalities, and/or other stuff.

Kururin should definitely be a playble character, it is just so, so.... ORIGINAL!

Behind that face lies a monster that is just waiting for a chance to get in Brawl

*bump*

If Kururin became an Assist Trophy, he would jump in his propeller-shaped helicoper, Heririn, and use the punching gloves power-up.

dark meta says:YOU FAIL.
(LARGE IMAGE OF "dark meta")
he also says:stop the obscure threads.
No he didn't, you said I fail, which is wrong. You also said stop the obscure (BUT UNIQUE) character threads, which I won't. Kururin might enter as something other than a playable character. And Kururin isn't too obscure, because Kuru Kuru Kururin was released in Japan AND Europe. He Heririn even appeared as a Trophy in SSBM.

Since we're getting closer and closer to Brawl's release, I'm going to have to say that Kururin doesn't have any chance of making it at this point.
