I've been playing a lot of Smash 4 lately and have always played Smash since Brawl years ago. I now want to get into melee but it is now increasingly harder to get a copy of the game. Does anyone know where I can find a copy of Melee for a reasonable price.

There are always some just a Google search away. Just make sure it's 1.2 before you get it. With that copy you've obtained, you may be able to homebrew your Wii/Wii U and play it with Nintendon't.

Or perhaps, if you don't want to do that, there may be one located at a local retro games store.

You don't have to pay for it to legally play it. You can just go to tournaments and fests and play it there ^.^

I want to be able to practice myself too. If I can't find a copy should I download the 20XX edition onto my wii?

Ok so I've can't find a disc copy of the game. My option now is to get it on my wii. Any videos or tips on how to get an iso of 20xx on my wii. I've seen a lot of them but don't know which one is the best. I see some that say to homebrew the wii and others using dos mios to run the game. I don't which is the right way to do it, plus I want to play it through an SD card if possible. Any help is welcome. Just a little confused at the moment.

There are tons of ways to do it and I imagine that if you just followed one of the videos you'd be fine. Just pick the one that sounds the easiest for you to do, and do it. Just clear your afternoon that day, cause it can be a pain in the ass, especially if you aren't used to doing mod related stuff. I remember getting stuck a few times, but with all the videos and guides available, if you just push through it you'll get there.

20XX is amazing, and I dare say is necessary now for players as it gives you so many new training options. It's worth the time and effort to set it up, I promise.

Ok thanks! Now with the 20XX will I be able to play melee regularly without all the training options also or is it strictly used for practice because I would love to play with some friends too?

The iso file for Melee is 1.4 GB. What I did was grabbed a cheap SD card, grabbed my wii and threw homebrew on it. I followed a tutorial which used Nintendont to read my SD and I can easily play 20xx through there. There are some detailed things like changing the Melee to make it 20xx you will have to do, but nothing is too complicated. It shouldn't take more than an hour man.

I recently set up dolphin+netplay through Anther's Ladder stuff on my laptop and Ive been playing on there which seems like nice way to practice. It's Melee, but you can essentially play with people around the world, although it can be laggy sometimes.. You can use your Wii U adapter to hook up your controller, although you need some software to make your computer recognize it.

I'm pretty new to the competitive scene, but Melee is just so accessible now it's awesome.

EVERYTHING DONE LEGALLY OF COURSE
