If it is true APE inc. belongs to ness NOT lucas! Is APE inc. from Mother 1 or 2. I never played a Mother game but, my friend told me that APE inc. is from Ness! Can anybody tell me if APE Inc. is Mother 1 or 2?

Now, Mother 2 was the Mother game repped in Smash Melee, but we also had Mother 1 music. I think chances are we'll get Mother 1 and 2 music as well as some Assist Trophies from that game.

Also, characters means all characters in the game. Not just playable characters. Any character present in the game needs a copyright, even if they're not playable.

All of the recurring music translated over to MOTHER3.
Onett's tricky. Brownie Brown/Shigesato Itoi could own it because of its inclusion in the original print of MOTHER3, Earthbound 64. To include any MOTHER2 anything and not Ness would be like having a Samurai Goroh assist trophy, Big Blue stage, and no Captain Falcon playable.

Yeah, what gives man? I FOUND THIS! It took a lot of wikipedia'ing.

Characters does not mean all the characters in the game.
It means playable characters. If they put assist trophies Maxis should be there for Sim City
Melee states "Playable Characters" in the title screen.

Characters does not mean items.
Proximity Mine from Melee is property of Rare.

Mr. Saturn is actually Itoi's invention. APE just developed the games, so Onett may be the only thing they're listed for contributing. It makes a little bit of sense to include Onett and not Ness, since original Eartbound 64 footage showed a destroyed Onett and Fourside.
