I was reading Saffron City's SmashWiki article...Why is Ness allowed to pick another stage than Saffron City in tournaments? Which disadvantage is there?

If Ness falls into the pits he can't use his PK Thunder recovery since it gets canceled by the walls.

with Dair's massive spiking ability having 2 more pits than other stages should really mean ness gets advantage.
