Ness Questions

So I've been playing both Ness and Lucas, and I think that I'm ready to make my decision on which one will be my main. However, I do have a few questions first.

1) Is Ness a popular character (do many people play him?) Is Lucas more popular?

2) Which one has the better recovery: Ness or Lucas?

3) Which is better fighting in the air?

4) Which is better at stringing combos together?

5) If the tier list was out, would Ness be higher or lower than Lucas? (Be honest.)

6) Does Ness fight off-stage well?

Thanks a bunch!

1. Lucas has a larger following currently to my knowledge.

2. Lucas has a much better recovery, by far.

3. Their air games are different. If I had to pick, I'd say ness's is better

4. Ness has an easier time stringing moves together.

5. Lucas will end up being higher due to his better camping and better recovery coupled with good kill moves.

I use both, and have used each in tournaments without seeing any horrible or insurmountable weaknesses. The people who beat me were better players, Ness and Lucas both held their own quite well.

Seriously, what DO you want to say, Ademisk? And why'd someone change it to Ninten and Claus instead of Ness and Lucas?

EDIT: Just found out that that's how the names are shown for some reason. Nevermind.

Lucas is more popular because in general he's easier to use. He will probably be higher tier because more people will use him. Overall I'd say that neither is better but they do require different playing styles. Lucas does have a better recovery but I wouldn't say that Ness's is really bad or anything.

Idk, I just think N3ss is abit better since he has such a good comboing ability that people have to unlock through practice which is why Luc4s is more popular: he's easier to get used to, but not necessarily better overall.

Yeah, kind of figured that out after looking at the date.

Anyway, I need more replies. Tier is my main concern here. Also, does Ness do well fighting off-stage? I love fighting off-stage.

Thanks!

Yes N3ss does. Since he has great airgame, he can jump off, aerial your opponent to death (fair, nair, and bair work), or even spike them  and then return with PKT2 newfound range.

In fact, IMO, he does better than Lucas since it IS air attacks.

EDIT: LOL at what fa!r, ba!r, and na!r change to on April fools day:laugh:

(imo) Lucas is better. I think their air game is about the same and Lucas has more killer moves. Lucas is easier to use then Ness cuz with Ness you have to actually use his PKT to kill opponents

(seeing he doesn't have a lot of kill options other then his back throw which has little range and they have to be at least 114%)

I hardly see Ness played online I see a lot more Lucas. Both Ness and Lucas are good at comboing but if I had to pick I'd say Lucas has it better I mean it just seems like you can make almost anything work with him.

Ness has a better down tilt and his PKT is much much better (not that you need to use it with Lucas other then to recover)

Lucas is much better at camping. When your in trouble you can just run and spam PKF. Just short hop when doing it and its better if your B-sticking it.

With Ness you kinda have to be in the action even when your at high dmg 1stock. (which is how I like it)

Lucas has a better recovery and his grabbing range is much better. Lucas doesn't have to use PKT to recover he has his weird snake to tether to the cliff and this glitch he can do to get on the cliff that also doesn't require PKT use.

Their both really good but if I'd had to say who would be higher tier it'll be Lucas by far.

I love using Ness because he's not used much and killing people with PKT is the best thing their is other then sweetspotting Zelda's forward and back air kick. (Zelda being my main)

Bumble Bee Ness FTW!

I disagree Diasflac. Ness has great kill moves, better than Lucas IMO. I cannot kill as easily with Lucas since his kill moves are mainly his smashes which are IMO faily unreliable ways to KO.

His bair is easy to land and powerful. All his aerials can KO actually (minus fair). His nair is the weakest, but it still has enough knockback and is quick. His uair may seem weak, but no way, its VERY powerful. And dair is one of the best spikes in the game.

His bthrow is better than any throw Lucas has, and PK thunder 2 isnt his only kill move. PK Flash also kills, and even if PKT2 was his only kill move, its a good one associatied with an endless mine of mindgames.

Bat is indeed inferior to the stick, but its still not a BAD smash.

Lucas is good too, but his throws and aerials dont KO as well. Neither do his specials.

I really need to get my Lucas Ness comparison list up sometimes:ohwell:
