Again, Ness is not deconfirmed. Someone made a joke post on serebii.net forums, and posted the translation Brawl Central took and posted on their website.

Lucas and Onett is not mentioned in the Famitsu article.

I don't care if this gets locked, but people need to stop believing everything they see.

Brawl Central has already taken off their false translation.

SO NESS IS NOT DECONFIRMED.

Thank you.

"I don't care if this gets locked, but people need to stop believing everything they see. "

...

Your post is hardly going to achieve that.

confirmed. Sending supplies.
I just sent the pic to a Japanese friend of mine. Assuming he gets his *** online, we'll be able to find out what this REALLY says...or as soon as SamuraiPanda gets on. Probably the latter.

Speculations are speculations, so let people believe what they want. Nobody here is convincing enough to prove that Ness has been confirmed or deconfirmed. Only official sources (like the Dojo) and the game itself will speak the truth.

"Title: "Do you remember Ness?

Ness, a representative of the Mother 2 series, has been appearing in Smash. He started out in Smash Bros. as a hidden character. In order to make him playable all that trouble you had to go to...Incidentally, the movie featured on the official website reveals that Mr. Saturn is still a throwable item."

and that's not all-

On the game's official Japanese website, the developers explain reasons for making particular characters playable and explain why some characters were not available as playable characters upon release. Initially, the development team wanted to replace Ness with Lucas, the main character of Mother 3 for the Game Boy Advance, but they retained Ness in light of delays. The game's creators have instead placed Lucas into the game's sequel, Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

I already posted my official translation on Brawl Central. The one before it was sketchy...

It doesn't give anyone a clear answer regarding his status in Brawl or not.

Will you guys PLEASE let go of the fact that he's gone? It's really getting annoying.
People will let go when the game is out and everything is set in stone. Honestly, at this point I wouldn't put anything past Sakurai. He is a very cunning misleader. :(

Nowhere does it confirm him or un-deconfirm him. He's right back into the "deconfirmed" category like he was before.

Well since most of the playable characters have been on the dojo the day after we get scans like these, Ness will likely be Monday's update. If not, I'd say sayanara.

When was he deconfirmed? Because Sakurai said UNTIL NOW?

He's never been deconfirmed. He's never been confirmed either, but he's not deconfirmed.

After this guy's first stab at translating it where he completely fabricates numerous things, I don't trust his translating skills one bit.

I think "up until now" was enough of a death sentence.

So I still think he's out even if this magazine doesn't provide a redeconfirmation (prefixes=fun).

Obviously it's people like you that assume too much from little things and cause ruckus.

Ness isnt deconfirmed from that little statement. Unless they outright say that hes not in anymore, dont assume stuff. Assumption is bad.

I would really like to know what that statement means then... I never got a straight answer...probably because I've been hanging around GameFAQs for too long, but that's beside the point... :/
