NerdaCon, Columbus GA Results Thread

[Gerbil]

Alright this isn't your typical results thread. There are no brackets to show, and the placements are known only 1-6 because this was a non standard tournament. The rules were standard as far as stocks, stages, and time limits go. However, it was single elimination, 1 stage only until quarter finals. Quarter finals and up were 2 of 3, and finals were 3 of 5. No teams were held (no time with all the other events going down).

I would like to point out that Nice1 is super cool, and somehow has this amazing luck where he beats people when it counts. I'd also like to point out that Torg (a Columbus crew member, but only attends local tournies and doesn't travel with us) had 2 lives. In fact, him and Seph are very unique in this tourny. They both had like... 4 Byes hahahaha. Also, add to the fact that Torg was written down twice in the bracket, he had two chances 0.0 Prac is also very unique in this tournament, for he had to fight Reflex really early on, during the 1 map only rounds, and managed to take out Reflex's G&W. This is why Reflex is not on the placement list. We just simply could not find him because the "brackets" were handwritten into this little notebook thing, and it was a really weird bracket.... like anyone's name on the right side got an automatic 4 or 5 Byes rofl. In Tsunami's case... he got pwned early by Alpha, also during the 1 map rounds, so he too does not have a placing we could find for him.

Prac - Dude we so pwned your car with the Krystal soda hahaha... nice job against Reflex and making it the rest of the way to Alpha, only to be stomped. But you did have him nervous that first match, we could all see it in his eyes rofl.

Nice1 - **** you. I destroy you all day long, and you finally beat me when it matters... >.< j/k on the **** you part haha. Good **** dude, you definately deserved to go on to the next round to be pwned by Alpha LMAO See you at G4S3.

Darvel -You lost to Torg ZOMG!!!! We are all losing the weirdest matches....

Torg - You'll never see this, but good ****. You obviously got a Phoenix Down back into the brackets ROFL.

Tsunami - You got beasted early, I am sorry about that hahahaha

Reflex -You too got beasted early... again what's with us losing these weird match-ups???

I felt cheated at first when he didn't choose Boozer. And he was none toohappy with the results either. It saddened me. I challenged him to a rematch after the tourney and demanded that he use the Koopa. He 2-0'd me, one game was pretty close but he 2 stocked me at Dreamland . . .

Summary: Reflex is my hero.

I'm glad I was finally able to meet you guys aftering semi-lurking in the forums for so long.(well...more like watching you guys play from the shadows than meeting >_>)
Prac, I enjoyed the match/****-fest we had in the quarter-finals, I felt that I gained something from it. Hopefully I can play you and the rest of the columbus crew in some friendlies next time for some sorely needed experience (G4S3 I guess?)instead of being too intimidated to ask >_<.

I won the last local tourny before this one.... my trophy is nice and BLUE!!!!! *rubs the blue trophy in Alpha's face* hahaha. Alpha's trophy was gold color, so thus mine wins by default. (It really is nice).

And I lost this one fairly, game 3 one stock, I ledge teched the first Falco dair spike, and he smartly jumped and intercepted it with another dair rofl. So props to Nice1.

I am the man man when it comes to collecting comics. before i ge to shootouts i wanna say hanging out with reflex,prac,gerbil,x2x,billy, and gerb's lil brother was fun and too funny. Yes will dd a second chance since i had to play to first round matches by mistake an i won both of them. ok shootouts:

Nice1- Man you impressed me in that match with Gerbil. I'm not surprised that you won though . Excellent finish against Alpha. IMO Your Sheik is slightly better than your Falco, but they are both contenders.

Will (Torg) - It is always fun talking with you during tourneys man. You have to be one of the funniest and most animated smashers I've ever met. Your attitude cheered me up. Great Marth man. Rep us right in the crew battle.

Gerbil - Are you still holding that school tourney over my head? I'm going to have to **** you I guess to shut you up. I'm ready when you are man. Good stuff in the tourney though.

Reflex- I assume you were as disappointed as I was. It's straight man, we all know you can rip it up when it "really counts".

X2X- I thought about what you said. I was hoping to be in the top three going in, and then the brackets got ****** or something but I got you second round. Single fight didn't help. To be perfectly honest Idk if I will ever play (you know who) ever again. He hasn't done as well as I would have hoped and I may consider other options. However, regardless of who I pick you better brace that Samus of yours. I was really without hope when I played you at N'con, but those days are done. That loss energized me to try even harder. Be warned if we play again you better be prepared to earn every stock. IM TAKING U DOWN

P.S 50 ppl in one room for 5 games phailzors. I hope if they do that again we will be more spread out, but oh well.

Yep, that was me. I seen the mlg tourney rules once or twice while browsing the forums but when you asked me if I wanted to ban a stage my mind sort of went blank! I do live in Columbus so I definitely have to join you guys on Friday. I'll pm one of you guys Monday once I make sure nothing is going on this Friday.
