Hey everyone,

I am trying to convince a friend to get a Wii U for smash bros (I have one and preordered) and he believes smash 4 is nothing but a HD version of brawl. If people could list changes big or small I would like to use them as an argument that they are not the same game as I have tried the 3ds version. Feedback would be appreciated!

These are my top 3:
1. Lots of new characters (14+ I think)
2. They game overall plays faster than Brawl.
3. The online multi-player options are bigger. 1v1? That alone sold it for me.

Well, I would recommend talking about the competitive aspect and how it has been vastly improved upon and will continue to be improved through balance changes. Tell him about the expanded roster, custom moves, and overall how these characters feel. You should especially talk about the stages since many of them appear to be legal stages and fun ones at that. For more casual players, there are still a good deal of illegal stages and the items are spectacular, especially the Final Smashes. It is an overall fun experience packed with content.

Hey everyone,

he believes smash 4 is nothing but a HD version of brawl.
On second thought, we don't need those people (just kidding)

Just give him the controller & let him play for a bit. Then he'll know for sure it isn't a brawl clone. Better yet, if he's a casual, let him play as Little Mac. He'll think he's the best.

Get him to watch the 50-Fact Extravaganza. If he's still not interested after that, then you may just need to part ways on the issue. Comparing this to Brawl at all seems to tell me that he hasn't watched any gameplay though. Also, Brawl is more or less dead since the online was taken down months ago... Aside from the SSE, there's really no reason to go back to it any more IMO once Sm4sh releases. Even the character cuts are debatable, since we may very well get them back through DLC (although the Ice Climbers are questionable).
