Need help with music volume and quality when converting to BRSTM.

For some reason, the music I important with BCSM GUI ends up much lower in volume and quality then I export it from Total recorder and Audacity, even though I export at 320 Kbps. What programs do you guys use to make sure that the audio you convert to BRSTM stays at full volume, and good quality?
