Hey everyone. Picked up Falco 5 days ago and decided he would be the character I get my tech skill down pat with. (never learned SHffling and stuff). So far it's my fifth day practicing and it's getting frustrating because I have to relearn nair to shine, dair to shine and stuff every day. (Shffles) But I took a break with that and I'm trying to learn the ledge hop double laser. I've been at it for an hour and a half and can't get it. Can anyone help me out? twitch.tv/polishsmash THANKS!!!!

what's specifically happens when you do it?
If your lasers aren't even then you're not lasering soon enough after you jump.
Try jumping with the control stick so you have easier timing for the laser.
You can drift onto the stage as soon as you start lasering.

First off thanks for replying out of the 32 people that viewed this thread. I press down on the control stick and FF, then I use Y to jump and as soon as I do I spam B and DI towards the stage. And I can only get 1 laser off. The closest I get is when I FF really low and then do one laser coming up and then when I land I do a standing laser. What do you mean by drift onto the stage? (DI right?) Sometimes I do Side B by accident. It's so annoying -__-

Try using down-up-b instead of down-y-b so that your thumb is already on the b button on jump (you want jump and lasers to be very close to each other). I use down-y-b now but when I was learning LHDL I found down-up-b to be pretty useful - the trick is to release the up input as soon as you can so you don't firebird.

From someone who originally learned how to ledge hop double laser with the y button, you should learn to do it with the control stick. It tends to give you more control over the height of your lasers.

I prefer Y -> B because it makes it a lot easier to reverse them to shoot off stage if you're edge guarding. I don't have any problems shooting them really low. I highly recommend just learning to SHDL with Fox. Its basically the same motion and timing.

I use y for LHDL - the way I practiced at first was to put the index finger on b and the middle finger on y just to get the timing. going back to just the thumb is a matter of moving it fast enough; shouldn't take too long to get it consistent

I can LHDL easily with falco but i cannot shdl with fox to save my life :(

Yea I agree, if you can SHDL with Fox you can LHDL with Falco. It took me way longer to be able to SHDL than to LHDL and it took even longer before I was SHDLing without the control stick lol.

I'm personally in favor of using y when doing my LHDL, then again I could already SHDL with ease before learning LHDL. If you just want to LHDL then start with the control stick. The only real disadvantage is accidental up-b. Personally I find it more useful to use y since it will help you with other techniques. If you can get the fast y-to-b motion things like reverse LHDL, SHDL, and double shine is easier IMO.

Do it in practice mode. That's what I did at least...

Start at 1/2 time, then 2/3 time, then 1/1 time. Practice on Ganon/Marth/Falcon. Someone that you can hit both lasers with. Once you get your timing down, switch to shorter charcters: Fox, Doc, Puff, etc..
