Can anyone help me translate this quote?

“I count him braver who overcomes his desire, than him who overcomes his enemies.”
–Aristotle

The quote means that Aristotle respects people that can overcome internal struggles more than people who can overcome external struggles.

Ok, in my opinion i believe he is talking of mental strength vs. physical strength. Mind over matter. Any one can beat up someone but will power is the one thats more difficult.
