Hello. I already posted this in the Game Play advice thread but no one replied so i'm taking my chances and bringing the plea for help here.

Can anyone give me some tips on how to get EVEN better at this game? Like top 16 level? I'm already good at this game. But i'm really having trouble being masterful.

I know how to be aware, how to space, admittedly i'm a bit slow on the inputs but that can't be all i'm doing wrong.
I play every single character so I know how to play and what they do.

I try not to fish for kills when the % is high and I am careful when i'm a stock ahead.

Is playing very good people strongly encouraged? Am I just being unlucky? I miss 90% of my moves. Am I really that predictable?

If it does take playing very good people can any of you help me out? I really want to prove my worth for this game.

You need to watch more anime and pick up on what the hero is doing. Most of the times anime writers will go in depth on the intricacies and the dynamics of combat in a very simplified manner. I personally don't own the game but have watched over 200+ hours of high intensity combat anime to make up for it and I consistently place within top 16 at the local weeklies in my area. This doesn't just apply to anime, you can learn a lot from reading the works of Oda Nobunaga and Confucius' "The Art Of War"

You can prove your worth in this game just by wanting it. You'll slowly find yourself getting better.

Losing against better players is often the only way to learn after a certain point. You've gotta find a scene, a group of friends, or training partners who are willing to play the game with you and get better with you. As you play each other, you'll learn each other's habits and punish each other for being predictable.

Another tip: take advantage of online play. A little bit anyway. I know a lot of people can't get complete exposure to local scenes, so online is the next best thing. Unfortunately, online combat has lag, and even the smallest bit of lag can turn rolls into pure invulnerable movement. Play online to get matchup experience, but keep in mind that the game is fundamentally different when lag is a factor. If you can find a training partner online with low lag, you'll get better.

It isn't anywhere near as good as an offline "Smash scene", but you gotta get your practice somehow.

People probably didn't reply because it's the same question asked several times in that thread, perhaps doing some searching/research into that thread would've gotten you more results. Or, patience.
