I'm -so- pumped for this game.
I really can't wait.
I don't even have a PS3, but I'm saving all my money from work to buy one.
I haven't been this excited since Brawl. -But that was kind of a let down-

There are going to be 25 characters in the game, with possible extra characters downloaded via PSN.

I bought NGNT: 4 and that was pretty fun, so hopefully this game is similar. If we're lucky Sasugod won't be as broken as he is in the manga *Stopped reading after Sasuke
killed Deidara
in the most ******** way possible*

I'm not a fan of Naruto [actually, I kinda hate it] but this game looks pretty cool. Makes me sad it's only on PS3.

I actually used to despise Naruto.
That was before I realized that I hadn't watched far enough in the show.
The first couple of episodes suuck.
After that, it gets really good though.

Anyway, about the game.
It does make me sad that it's only for PS3, but I always thought Anime fighting games belonged only with Sony, as Naruto: Rise of a Ninja proved.

The reason I hate it is because of the poor pacing which makes the mediocre story even worse, the first 70 episodes were decent but after that it just got boring and I stopped watching just before 100, Naruto, Jiraiya and Tsnada were fighting Kabuto and Orochimaru for like, 5 episodes and then I just stopped watching.

Really... The current manga is really good now in my opinion. But if some people like it, I guess it can't be helped.. the filler episodes did **** it up a bit.

I played the demo and this game is really fun. I have never watched a single episode of the anime and even I want this game. The freedom you have with your character makes this so much fun and the graphics are of course amazing. I also read that this game will have a exploration mode so that's another reason for me to get it.

Awesome.
That makes me want this game even more.
The fact that someone who doesn't even watch the Anime wants this game.

I have a question.
Were the items worth using?
And were the jutsus hard to use?

The items did not seem necessary to use but maybe I just didn't understand what to use them for. When I tried using items I would often miss and when the CPU used items you're given such freedom that in most cases I could just run around them. But it could just be that they require timing to use, I had more success with them when I stunned my oppponent or got closer to him.

Jutsus? Hmm, I'm not sure what those are. XD Like I said I never watched the anime so I would have to play the demo again to familirize myself with the term. I almost said no but then I rembered that what I was using was Chakra not jutsu. I'll take another look at it.

For those who care there was also the option to use the Japanese voice overs if you don't like the English ones.

Think of jutsus as special moves that a character uses... Think of it as the Naruto version of Final Smash (my imagination sucks, I know... lol)

As for the Japanese voices, I think the English dub was kinda horrible. So, thanks for the info!

Jutsu are more like special moves, most characters have a lot more than one. I found it pretty cool how the writers made them so interesting and used so smartly instead of the way you see characters in DBZ use their moves.

Hey now! I like DBZ.
Who doesn't enjoy over the top action every now and then?

Anyway.
Thanks for the info Chill.
I believe jutsus are used by holding the Circle button.
Naruto's is Rasengan (blue ball in his hand), while Kakashi's is Chidori (Ball of "lightning" in his hand).

I also have another question, if you don't mind.

How does the combo system work out?
Is it simple enough to do them without having them be so east it's stupid?

That's not want I meant, I meant they do stuff like when Zabuza trapped Kakashi in the water jsutsu Naruto did made shadow clone, transformed into a shuriken, made Sasuke throw the shuriken at Zabuza and when Zabuza dodged it, another shuriken was in the shadow of the first one and it forced Zabuza to release his grip on Kakashi. It wasn't really powerful but it was clever and really interesting. I doubt there will be moves like that in the game but it just goes to show the flexibility of the characters' abilities.

wow, you must be a dedicate Naruto fan, but as much as I like Naruto, I wouldn't actually go out and but a PS3 just exclusively for that game which IMO isn't worth it, but MGS4 or a new KH game on the other hand sure would be worth it,

Well that was my thinking exactly.
I was thinking about it this game was really worth 400+ dollars.
And it hit me.

God of War III
KH 3
MGS4

These are all games that I will definitely want in the future.

Just to let everyone know, I picked up my PS3 today, and have been playing the demo all day.
It's awesome.

So if anybody wants to know things from a knowledgeable Naruto source.
Ask away.

The PS3 is a pretty good combo with anything other than a 360 because of the 3rd party games. Xbox only really works well with the Wii because it has a lot of 3rd parties that Wii doesn't have and it has good exclusives but when you pair it up with PC or PS3 you get basically the same games with a exclusives you can only get on PS3 or PC but if you have the money it'd be worth it to get them all.

Back on topic, I hope they'll add more characters, the more the merrier especially when it comes to Naruto.

It is confirmed that the initial game will have 25 characters.
But of course there will be dlc for more.

I now own all three next-gen systems.
And I really don't know how, I'm usually broke.
But it worked out cool.
That was off topic.

I just downloaded the PS3 demo of this and OH MY GOD.

The fighting system could take some getting used to (it might just leave something to be desired), but the graphics really look like the anime. The game really has to be seen to be believed.

I know!
I've played the demo all day long with some of my friends, and I don't really think the fighting system needs fixing.
Except for one move that shows up a lot that I use accidentally and it ruins my combo's.
But it's still amazing.

The game's already out? My brother has the PS3 so I won't be able to enjoy this game.

So how much depth does this game have?

Depth in terms of the fighting system? I'm sad to say not a lot. With one button performing awesome combo's it lacks. It never feels like you are actually in a head to head fight. If one person starts hitting you, you have three options.

1. Be annoying and abuse support characters to break the chain.
2. Rapidly tap R2 in hopes of poofing.
3. Take it hard.

This ends making it feel like whoever can combine special moves the best wins. It's definitely a good game, but hand to hand fighting feels like it lacks.

Exactly why I'm buying a PS3 and not a PC: The Sequel.

You've got to be kidding me. No way are you comparing Naruto to MC2 in terms of a fighting game. -_-

I find anime fighting games entertaining when done right. They're just fanservice. Only anime fighting games that got me hooked were the Bleach DS games and the Gundam VS series.

And yeah, comparing Naruto to MvC2 is a little strange.
