Nair is marth's 2nd best Airiel, after Fair IMO. It's a great disjointed hitbox with decent range, does good damage if tippered, you can edge hop this if you're going for an edge hog and they make it on the stage, good priority, can be used for an approach, can be used defensively if you SH it then DI backwards, and it can kill if it tippers. Yes, Nair is useful.

All of this, and its most important feature in my humble opinion: it's a "one-two punch", so it means it lasts longer than other aerials. *This* is why nair is great as a defensive move.

If you are able to get a good setup where you pop the opponent up slightly. Than you can usually get in an nair and if they don't DI correctly. You can semi-combo them in a ken combo fashion by repeatedly SH nair FF. But its situational and you usually won't get into a situation since it is DI'able. Besides that great way to rack up damage, and it just ***** the taller characters. Although in terms of range fair is actually longer by like one pixel but nair lasts longer so it evens out.
