Well, I saw the teaser and Gameplay vid on the Nintendo Channel, and I already think this game may have great potential.
Lets review what we know about this game (and what I now know more of).
-2.75 - 3D Game. Not bad really.
-Gameplay will be mostly by use of the Wii Remote, with two different control schemes in one. "Prime Mode" and "Explorer Mode".
-Prime Mode is just as it sounds, you are in a first person view, and are able to focus your fire with the Wii Remote.
-Then there is "Explorer Mode", where you are running around, 2.75-3D gameplay, with elements of gameplay from the original Metroid and Super Metroid/ Zero Mission and other games (The Dash Booster being one of them) from a third-person view.
-Additional fleshing out of Samus' backstory that the Prime manga (or whatever source you use for Samus' history). Which might turn out to be a good thing.
-Graphical detail is better than some other Wii titles, especially in the cutscenes.
-Melee combat is also minimally implemented in using execution style moves to finish off enemies. Which might provide some entertainment when destroying an enemy that has been harassing you in an area.
This game could be great, the only thing that can really hurt it now is skepticism, and anything else the developers might goof up on. I am looking forward to the game, personally.
Discuss further.
