In the simple brawl stance.

I spent like 10 minutes on this one so its not the best. and i didnt feel like making his sword right lol.




This link one is my favourite.
Its not done yet, i still have to finish the legs and shield, but when it is done, i'm giving it to kief :)
but he doesnt know yet. and he doesnt look at the art thread so he probably wont know until i give it to him. hahahaha





I mostly do sketches because im not good at computer graphics.
the only good comp. thing i made was kiefers avatar.





critique me? but dont be harsh :(

The title caught my eye.

Good stuff. try and focus on values more so than the shapes.

Also how did you capture these images? camera?


ALSO! the ava looked like it said gorgonzola at first glance.

Well I don't know if I completely agree with that. You see, there is a great difference between form and shapes. If you draw a shape, then you're drawing the contour circle, square, or what have you, with no values to fill the bounds.

Form is rendered only from shaded values, not from basic contour lines. Now, that's not to say that you can't render a sphere from contour lines only, because that can be done too, but that is simply another form of shading.

If you want my advice, I say that you aim to work out form by focusing on your values. Try to draw without the tip of your pencil, rather using only the side, and by applying pressure at different angles, you'll shade lighter, darker, thinner, thicker, etc, etc. Also, as practice, you may want to draw details, meaning not precise, articulate drawings, but cropping the image to a certain zone -- say, simply Link's left arm, with the main focus on his forearm. You can create bounds like these to limit your focus to a specific area for a deeper focus and study of how form is rendered by light, and the shadows that consequently are cast.

I would urge you to not just draw characters for the sake of drawing them, uploading, and getting petty comments as a means of fueling the small fire that questions what you really care about drawing, because frankly, that won't get you anywhere. I love video games, and I love video game characters, yet my artwork is not about them at all. If you want any other advice or have any questions, feel free to inquire.

The Yoshi is the best in my opinion,
and Link looks good, you just need to work on the eyes,
yes, I know, they are impossible!
Try to make them a little smaller and the eyebrows a little less dense and big,
and that should help. And make sure his feet aren`t too small,
but it is good :)

It might not be Link`s eyes exactly, but the mouth is a little funny,
hmm :/ and compared to the rest of his face his eyes are too dark.

Im not 100% sure what you mean in the last paragraph...:dizzy:
But i like to draw and i like to brawl so i just combined them lol

Half the reason she drew it was for her sketchbook assignment lol. Other half was just cus she likes drawing that kind of stuff like me. :D
I don't think she drew them just to get comments on here, though. I see it more as an 'eh. why not?' kind of thing. :p

Oh of course, I wasn't trying to berate her work, or her reasoning, but it really is one thing to make a drawn copy of an image, and another to draw from the image.

Think about it ;)

Nevertheless, I completely support the work ethic of any and everyone, as long as they are pursuing something worthwhile to themselves, and that phrase has zero limits. However, if she wants more than just the typical feedback one would receive for doing a simple contour copy of a few renders we've all seen a billion times, then she may want to try to [like I said] "draw from the image," meaning draw inspiration to make it her own, developing certain motor, optic, and translation techniques from image to brain to paper.

Sorry if that all got a bit muddy! I'm tired, I've been playing Majora's Mask for the past six hours.
