...who says CG? Chaingrab takes the same amount of time.

If you're going to dash attack, dash attack later than you are. You'd miss with the sweetspot and if they shield it, you're much more likely to get shieldgrabbed with your current timing.

Make sure you sweetspot the ledge if Marth isn't hogging it.

You're going really high with your bairs especially since he's on the ground. You should be more aggressive and approach with shffl's or JC grabs. I wouldn't recommend approaching with dash attacks, but do it when you think you can land it.

I don't know why you're playing so defensively. Sheik can pretty easily get through peoples' guards with needle cancels and grabs and such, but you seem to be shielding after every needle and whiffed aerial. Use your jabs to cover for your whiffs.

You're using the dsmash quite a bit and I'm not so sure if it's a good idea because it doesn't combo very well. I'd recommend using tilts instead. I know covering both sides at once seems like a good idea, but a good tilt will be much better.

Also, just because you land a slap does not mean your opponent is free to go. Sheik is fast. Use her speed. Run after them and keep smacking them around, or fake them out into a grab or edgeguard or edgehog or something. You're being way too lenient.

TY. I think the reason I'm so tentative/defensive is b/c I've always been afraid of my friend's Marth. He's the one whom I played with from when I first started playing up until now, and he was already going to tournaments when I was still baffled about how he slid across the stage into an f-smash. I think now that I know I can beat him I can start getting more aggressive.

I think that as long as I space my dash attacks better I'll be okay (Drephen says to spam dash attacks and grabs vs. Marth in his mini-guide thing), as he won't be able to punish me. I agree that I should use needles more, but I believe that SHFFL'd aerials aren't that great b/c Marth outranges and outprioritizes Sheik.

That's why you have to mix it up. Aerial needle a few times so he stops trying to outrange you, then lay on him with shffl's and when he tries to shield, just land into a grab. Or needle on the way down. Sheik's got lots of options.

learn to wavedash out of shield with consistency. many times you had a chance to wd out of shield and grab him for his mispaced f-smashes and missing grabs vs marth is bad because the matchup's mostly about grabbing each other.

space better against his shield because often your moves get shield-grabbed when they shouldn't be. your f-tilts are often shield grabbed and they shouldn't be if you space them >__>

learn how to combo after d-throw. for example. a lot of times your opponent goes up+behind you atfer d-throw and you chase him with regrab and he double jumps away. instead, you could turn around and u-tilt or u-smash him (or f-tilt him if you want something more guaranteed although them diing the f-tilt well negates a big follow-through most of the time). when they di away from you and in front of you, the regrab is more appropriate but if they di it neutral or behind you it won't do anything. be more creative with your chases. he keeps countering regrabs so do other stuff. in the second half you start jumping for b-airs/f-airs with is an upgrade but often you had a chance to kill him with u-air or something (2:54 for instance).

stay grounded vs marth, drephen's right with what he says. dash attacks, f-tilt, d-tilt, grabs, jab (be careful with this), needles, and you should be good. you space needles okay at the moment so that's a start, just space your other stuff better. grab more.

tell your friend to di away from sheik at all times unless she's doing d-smash, f-air, or d-throw below ~50. also, tell him that he needs to be more aggressive. if sheik is camping needles against him, he has to take action at some point because sheik isn't obligated to approach him. you seem very patient against him and his defensiveness makes him take a lot of unnecessary damage from needles. also, tell him to learn how to cc sheik's jabs on reflex into grabs.
