moar pivotgrabs

You pivotgrab by starting a dash one direction, and then pressing z and the control stick the opposite direction. Or you could z + c-stick if you want. Whichever is easier.

Thank you for this. I was trying to figure out the best way to go about pivot grabbing. That really helps me out.

I have a couple of questions.

Is there a thread on learning how to DI? I'm not entirely sure what it is.

What's the best way to set up pivot grabs. I'm having a hard time doing it correctly. I know I'm pivot grabbing but setting it up in fights seems a little difficult.

Thanks

pivot grabs are set up by your opponent, usually after an aerial approach. you run back a bit and pivot grab. There are also other ways to use it, one I use is a downthrow at mid percents, you can then walk closer to them and start a dash to pivot grab in either direction depending on their DI. there's also dthrow to run under + pivot grab. the main use is still just to keep your distance while attacking by running away and doing it. you don't have to set it up to connect every time, it's more of a tool for keeping them at the right distance away and eventually they will get hit by it.
