My NU team. There aren't many people that play NU so I usually have to play against OU teams, but I beat the OU teams most of the time anyway.

-----

Persian @ Wide Lens
Technician
Jolly
EVs - 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 HP

Fake Out
Hypnosis
Substitute
Return

Last Resort's little PP was hurting, the extra damage really isn't worth it.
-----

Armaldo @ Leftovers
Battle Armour
Impish
EVs - 252 Def / 248 HP / 8 Atk

Stealth Rock
Rapid Spin
Toxic
Stone Edge

Great support pokemon. Very helpful to this team.

-----

Primeape @ Choice Band
Vital Spirit
Jolly
EVs - 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 HP

Close Combat
Stone Edge
Earthquake
Outrage

Outrage is very helpful in OU.

-----

Wailord @ Choice Scarf
Water Veil
Naive
EVs - 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 Atk

Water Spout
Hydro Pump
Ice Beam
Selfdestruct

Has the ability to sweep pretty well. Wailord can't do much when it's health is low, so Selfdestruct is a nice move to have.

-----

Magmortar @ Choice Scarf
Flame Body
Modest
EVs - 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 SpD

Fire Blast
Focus Blast
Thunderbolt
HP Ice

The Scizor of NU. Also, amazing type coverage.

-----

Relicanth @ Choice Scarf
Rock Head
Jolly
EVs - 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 HP

Head Smash
Earthquake
Aqua Tail
Double Edge

Head Smash STAB with no recoil. Scarf instead of Band because trading power for speed is worth it.

Wow, that is a lot of Choiced pokemon.

The problem with Choiced pokemon is that, unless you have good prediction and are able to do more than a 1 for 1 trade, they're very easy to wall. I'd suggest looking into Live Orb builds for some of these.

Stealth Rock would also be very good on this team to help your pokemon sweep. Maybe try to integrate is somehow. Dodrio seems pretty weak on this team so maybe replacing him with a Stealth Rock user like Armaldo or Sandslash.

As far as Purugly vs. Persian goes, I'd go with Persian. Speed is generally the best offense and Technician can boost the power of Fake Out to where Fake Out+Last Resort can nearly match Purugly in damage. Last Resort is also a more solid option than Return.

1. Persian > Purugly

2. Rest Talk Relicanth, to save PP and heal. 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpDef is the set I often use.

3. Replace Wailord with...

Espeon @ Leftovers / Life Orb
Modest / Synchronize
252 SpAtk / 252 Speed / 4 HP
Substitute
Psychic
Signal Beam
HP Ground

Helps with prediction. Also, Wailord is kind of bad.

I just came in to agree with annoying about Persian > Purugly. The speed ties for Fake Out against fellow Persians will make a difference.

I'm loving Armaldo right now, thanks Gates.

I'd use Rest Talk Relicanth, but it needs its choice scarf to stay alive against OU teams. I tried out Espeon, but it got OHKO'd most of the time. Wailord is really useful for me, actually.

Okay, then use Choice Scarf Metagross instead, problem solved.

You're doing it wrong. You can't OHKO without Fissure, Guillotine, etc.

I often fight OU teams, but I'm keeping this NU. Metagross, unfortunately, is not an NU pokemon.

It's still called OHKO if it's a regular attack that killed in one hit, right?

Quagsire and Slowking are the best walls in the tier.

Fire is the best type in the tier. Like, better than Dragon in OU good.
