Hi.

I'm fairly new to smashboards and Shoddy, but I've made a couple teams and judging from the mistakes I've made in the past, I created this team. I've had moderate success with it on the ladders, but no overwhelming victories. I'd appreciate some constructive criticism. (or flaming if it gets the message across.) Changes will be in red. Anyway, here it is:

Roserade @Focus Sash
Natural Cure
Timid
4 Hp/ 252 Spd/ 252 Sp. Atk

-Sleep Powder
-Toxic Spikes
-Leaf Storm
-HP Fire

Rosie's my lead and a good one she is. She's decently fast and focus sash+sleep powder cripples most leads, since I seem to be fairly lucky with the accuracy. Leaf Storm is for STAB and she's not going to last long, so the Sp. Atk decreases won't matter. When they switch out their asleep poke, she gets a turn to lay toxic spikes. HP Fire is for the steel types they send out to wall her, especially Foretress.

Dusknoir @Leftovers
Pressure
Adamant
252 Hp/ 232 Atk/24 Def

-Substitute
-Focus Punch
-Ice Punch
-Shadow Sneak

Dusknoir is a subpuncher. Not much else to say there. Shadow Sneak for finishing weakened opponents late-game and STAB, Ice Punch for Mence and Chomp when he gets unbanned.

Jirachi @Leftovers
Serene Grace
Timid
252 Hp/176 Spd/80 Sp. Atk

-Calm Mind
-Wish changed to Thunderbolt
-Grass Knot
-Psychic

I love Jirachi. He's so fun to use, specially with CM. Grass knot usually OHKO's Swampert (my mortal enemy) and no-one expects it. I would really prefer that this guy be left in my team, because he's won most if not all my really tough fights for me and got me first ever 6-0.

Gliscor @Yache Berry
Hyper Cutter
Jolly
252 HP/40 Atk/216 Spd

-Baton Pass
-Swords Dance
-Earthquake
-Stone Edge

Changed to:

Tyranitar @Choice Scarf
Sand Stream
Hasty
120 Atk/136 Sp. Atk/252 Spd

-Fire Blast
-Ice Beam
-Stone Edge
-Earthquake

Dragonite @Lum Berry
Inner Focus
Adamant
252 HP/60 Atk/196 Spd

-Dragon Claw
-Dragon Dance
-Light Screen
-Roost

Dragonite is a Bulky DDer and a good late-game sweeper. Lum Berry is for annoying WoW and T-Wave. He doesn't have much type coverage, but he can set up behind Light Screen and use Roost to heal. Any Steel-types he encounters should be redirected to...

Magnezone @Life Orb
Magnet Pull
Timid
44 Atk/248 Sp. Atk/216 Spd

-Discharge
-Magnet Rise
-Explosion
-HP Ice changed to HP Fire

Magnezone is mixed sweeper and my counter for Steels. I invested in Speed to avoid Metagross's Earthquake using Magnet Rise and beat some Heatran. He's pretty much essential if I'm also using Dragonite.

Quite a lot of this has been taken from Smogon, but the combination of pokes and my personal twists are what makes the team.

Suggestions?

I don't particularly know the EVs, but small speed inestment and lots of HP and Def
Modest
Calm mind
HP [Fire]
Grass Knot / Energy Ball
Recover

I hope you like getting sweeped

also, Sexmie, Zam, and pretty much any special sweeper that ouspeeds your team beats it.

Just my way of saying, you need more fat pink *****

I loathe Blissey with a fiery passion. Can you suggest any other Special walls?

Thanks for the input.

Hi.

Fine. Make sure that you Leaf storm Aerodactyl.

Dusknoir @Leftovers
Pressure

-Focus Punch
-Ice Punch
-Shadow Sneak

Interesting set. You might consider changing substitute and Focus Punch into Brick break and pain split so that you have a better wall to round off the offence.

Jirachi @Leftovers
Serene Grace
Timid
252 Hp/176 Spd/80 Sp. Atk

-Calm Mind
-Wish
-Grass Knot
-Psychic

I love Jirachi. He's so fun to use, specially with CM. Grass knot usually OHKO's Swampert (my mortal enemy) and no-one expects it. I would really prefer that this guy be left in my team, because he's won most if not all my really tough fights for me and got me first ever 6-0.

I use grass knot Jirachi, too. My advice would be to change wish to wish into thunderbolt as you don't want your Calm mind to go to waste switching out on vaporion (whom takes little damage from Grass knot) and you don't have to worry about magnezone saving both Jirach and Dragonite.

Gliscor @Yache Berry
Hyper Cutter
Jolly
252 HP/40 Atk/216 Spd

-Baton Pass
-Swords Dance
-Earthquake
-Stone Edge

Gliscor is a baton passer with a more of a focus on sweeping. Yache Berry and not leftovers because so many things carry ice type attacks. I'm not so sure about leaving him in my team because he hasn't been so useful recently, although stone edge and earthquake give moderately good type coverage.

I have to agree with you about replacing him. All you are benifiting by BP Sword dance is Dragonite, whom still fears those ice attacks and doesn't benefit much since it's a bulky set. If you want to keep Score, either make it a bulky set or use rock polish over Sword dance. If you want another Baton passer, Ninjask would work well. I'd also maybe reccomend tyranitar for the added Sp. Def via sandstorm and similar (if not identical) type coverage.

Dragonite @Lum Berry
Inner Focus
Adamant
252 HP/60 Atk/196 Spd

-Dragon Claw
-Dragon Dance
-Light Screen
-Roost

If you were to keep Gliscor or get a ninjask, change this to a offensive set. It's not benefiting much from SD and it's the only thing that can even hope to take out special walls. Maybe change this into a salamence as it does a superior job sweeping.

If you were to get a tyranitar there, then this is fine. If anything, possibly drop light screen for Earthquake or a fire move, since most steel types know EQ and, if they can nail you on the switch or they get you first, you now have two dead pokes. Though the Sp. Def boost is nice to have, especially without any formal special walls.

Magnezone @Life Orb
Magnet Pull
Timid
44 Atk/248 Sp. Atk/216 Spd

-Discharge
-Magnet Rise
-Explosion
-HP Ice

Took it right from smogon, eh? Make sure you have HP fire as steel types are what this set is ment to counter.

Quite a lot of this has been taken from Smogon, but the combination of pokes and my personal twists are what makes the team.

Individual comments in bold.

My big piece of advice is to have another more dedicated physical sweeper. Of the pokes on your team, 3 of your team members are physical and none of them are pure sweepers. Putting on something like tyranitar over gliscor would help this quite a bit

Thanks for the advice. Actually, with Magnezone, I messed with his EVs to outspeed most steel types (notably neutral speed Metagross.) I agree with you on Tyranitar, I'll change that now.

You still want HP fire. It's like having a ground type be your counter for electric types but the poke has no way to deal with them (No EQ, no nothing).

If I may make the suggestion, I'd advise you make Tyranitar either a bulky set (it has enough offence to do this well) or a Dragon dance set. There are better scarfs out there and, by being forced to do a move over and over there aren't many ways to deal with counters who would love to come in and beat you to death.
