Just got back from the SSB4 demo. I played Marth and Fox. It was faster paced then brawl by that i mean the fall speed was higher and the run speed was faster. There was no l cancel or wash dashing.landing. There Shield stun was very low its just as easy if not easier to oos up smash or up b. Shield grab is still strong and it wrecks noobs. When i was marth i would notice that when i would use dancing blade noobs would pop up out of it. I even got punished mid dance by a little mac jab. I think that the hit stun in this game is lower then brawl. I think the hit boxes are also more representative of what a move is trying to be. The game still has pivot garbs which is nice in my opinion. Also the Village seemed real strong when i played vs him. This is all i could really gather for the 4 mins of game play i got. Everything is subject to change by the release date. I have to say the uped speed of the game and lack of follow ups makes for a kinda sloppy play. I was also using the pro controller which is not what i am used to. take my advice and dont waste your time in line to play the demo. There is my wright up on it. I hope all the the players in this group also post there 4 min experience in this thread.

My impressions.

So smash 4 is essentially what brawl was supposed to be. Will there be something like melee space animals in this game? Probably not. The characters I did play though (Marth and Shiek) felt very smooth and sexy though.

In terms of glitchyness and jankyness it's the most polished game in the series (I only played for a bit). I only played it for about 20 mins though. Gonna get some more matches in tomorrow.

There is hitstun in the game you can't just mash airdodge to get out of combos.

Shiek's uair is a multihit move now. Has some knockback at the end, but I don't really know just how strong it was since I was playing smash run. It did ko with my stat boosts though so I think it might end up being a good juggle/ko move now. Her nair has a slightly different animation. Her u-tilt seems to have a bigger hitbox. Shiek's up-b when she reappears does damage now instead of just wind.

Marth is as different in smash 4 as he changed from brawl to melee. Will probably still be a good character. I think stale moves will be similar to melee in that they only affect certain specials or moves. I spammed forward smash for an entire match and was getting kills around 110% from the other side of the map (arena stage). Tippers were pretty easy to land, but my opponents were very bad. I got a cool pin though.

Removal of SDI might have happened because of all the multihit moves a lot of characters have. I think it was actually a decision to remove it. Now characters like Pikachu, Zelda, and Ness can be buffed without making them extremely op. DI also feels like it's not as strong as before and may not even be in the game. I am somewhat ambivalent about whether or not it's a good thing.

Throws have endlag at the end. It's not like you will be punished for throwing somebody like Kirby's throws in melee, but there probably won't be any true combos involving them. I had a very easy time juggling people off of throws.

You don't feel like . The speed is not as fast as melee, but it's not brawl slow either. It's a faster smash 64.

I had some problems controlling the characters since they made us use the wii u pro controller and the 3DS. It was very weird to get used to the different locations of the x and y buttons as well as the "c-stick".

I'm not sure if I'll get this game yet, but it's definitely much better than brawl.

Be sure you're remembering that tap jump was on by default, so OOC usmash and upB may have been easier due to that if you don't play with tap jump before.
