Hello there,

So, even though it may take another 3 - 5 years or so, I'm sure you're all just as excited as me about the next SSB game

. Of course, speculating is a part of the hype, and why wouldn't I join and share my thoughts with all of you?

In this thread, as the title already implies, I'll share my list of character inclusions with you. It's based on a few articles, although mainly on my personal thoughts of what I think Sakurai will put in the next game. Of course it may be the case that a bit of wishful / biased thinking might be involved in my choices too

I'll most likely edit my list in the future as I will receive reactions on it. I would also appreciate if you rate and criticise my thread.


Note that the characters written down as newcomers, cut character or possible character are listed in a specific order, namely by the chance I expect them to be added / cut out. I haven't spent much time ranking the possible characters, though, so that might be a little bit of a mess.

Well, out of the Mario characters, I sincerely believe that Bowser Jr. has the best chance of getting in. It's not like Daisy could have an interesting moveset, and besides, a custom costume of Peach essentially already looks quite like her.
Bowser Jr. has taken the role of Bowser (main antagonist) in a few Mario games (I believe 3 of them, cba to look them up tbh xD), even playing alongside him in a couple of recent and popular games (Mario Galaxy comes to mind). The other character that competes for his spot is Waluigi, which really only appears in the typical multiplayer Mario games, such as the sports series and Mario Party.
Then again, yeah, they might not add any more Mario characters, but keep in mind that they intended on adding Dr. Mario at the start of the developing process of Brawl. THere were also five Mario characters in melee (not even including Yoshi and DK), so I wouldn't find it really strange if they put about seven of them in SSB4.

I'm not really a fan of Krystal anyway tbh, so I won't bother to defend her xD.


Btw, in a few articles the number 50 has been mentioned. I'm also of the belief that they will put a few more from my 'possible characters' list in as newcomers or unlockables xD, but not really not sure at all which. I'll probably edit my post later and move a few of those characters around anyway.

I hope you just forgot to mention Toad, the single best and most important mario character not currently in smash.

Yeah, I imagine his playstyle to be similar for Squirtle for some reason . Guess it's because of their similar appearances with the shell and the rather small length and all. Controversely, I think Sakurai would make him more of a ground type of fighter instead, and his weight about the same as Diddy Kong.
Hmm, actually =O Writing all this makes me want to make a moveset myself for him.
Bullet Bill as an Up-B recovery move is what comes in mind as his first move. :O And with (possibly) Paper Mario in it as well, Bowser Jr. might as well summon a temporary partner (Shadow Mario) with Down-B. How would that work out, though? Oh well, it would be pretty cool imo at least.

Why the **** would you honestly think theyre gonna put ****ing GENO as a playable character in the next smash brothers?
Please explain this to me.
