Well ok here it goes.
My basic idea is that everyone is born under a starsign, these starsigns give various powers/skills to the individuals born under them.The closer your birthday is to the starsigns "peak" the more naturally talented you are at it's bestowed skill set.
In addition to this, there are "shrines" dotted around the planet that emanate the power of the various planets on to the people.Without these shrines the powers could be severely diminished.
I figured this way of obtaining powers could be pretty interesting.You could mix lots of different styles of fighting from anywhere in the world with the natural powers given by the starsigns.
Anyway back to the basic plot.
It is said an individual born on the 29th of February(leap year), is an empty vessel, capable of learning any of the starsign skills in question.These people are almost always kept in the dark about their true potential,the fear of past individuals who became evil and power hungry still lingers.
The main antagonist and protagonist are twin brothers.Both of them were born on this day(they don't know)they are raised as saggitarians.
At some stage in the story, one of the brothers finds out his true potential and lashes out at his friends and family, finds out the location of their shrine and destroys it.
When the good brother doesn't lose his powers, he questions his father about it who reveals the truth.
He then begins his true quest to stop/find his brother.
This is pretty much what Ive got so far, I have some other more detailed bits and pieces on the powers of both brothers and the normal people.Also bits about a group dedicated to revealing the truth about the leap year children.(They are the ones who led the evil brother astray)
So there it is, I am open to any and all suggestions, additions, ideas.Free free to ask any questions about anything.
I know I don't have much, but it's a very straightforward (and cliche) idea that I think if done right could be pretty epic.
