Why is it that nowadays, kids listen to music not meant for them? Let's take Lady Gaga, for example. "Just Dance" is about getting drunk in a bar, yet some idiot thought it would be a good idea to put it in a kid's movie. "Love Game" is about something I really can't mention, but from the title, it's sorta obvious.

Then there's rap. Its undecipherable lyrics usually have some reference to illegal materials or some things I can't mention in fear of getting an infraction.Yet lots of kids listen to it. Why is that?

Kids Bop is even worse. They take these songs and make kids sing them! WTF? Why are they doing stupid things like this?

Anyways, discuss what you think about this.

As far as Kidz Bop goes, this is all I have to say.

As far as other music, a lot of people listen to that music because they either A) Don't care about the meaning of the song, or B) It's "cool" to listen to that music.

I.e. people are stupid and they should feel stupid.

Music industry wants money, so they market these catchy songs for kids and the kids like it so they make money.

You think the industry gives a **** if they're being a bad influence?

Kidz Bop is horrible. Huh.

I guess it's just what these young'uns listen to these days. You remember 'My Humps'? Tons of kids just listened to that because it's cool to listen to a song that talks about words that they think are funny. Other songs about sex, drugs, etc. probably just make the audience feel good, and some of the songs are probably catchy. I agree with the dance music thing too.

People do a lot of stupid things to feel as though they matter.

I don't listen to any of that, I listen to the Bach suites/anything that Yo Yo Ma comes out with.
