Movesets in Brawl: Probably Wont Happen, But An Idea.

Imagine this: each character came with individual movesets. Like, maybe two or three variations of each character.

For example, Fox is equipped with his light blaster and shine. What if you could equip him with a heavy blaster and absorption field? Imagine the possibilities of different movesets: most of the character's moves would stay the same but the moves that they DO have an effect on could change their play styles drastically.

Or, consider this: being able to equip Samus with different missles [Ice Missles?] and beams [Wave Beam?]. It would change her B and Forward B moves.

Being able to drop Ike's bigass sword for maybe an axe? It would change up his A moves [tilts and aerials].

Dropping Link's bombs for being able to use the spinner...dropping the boomerang for the ball and chain?

Instead of Mario, using Hammer Bros. Mario. Or Dr. Mario [it could be a moveset, we all know he is getting dropped].

[NOTE: I also think Luigi needs Vaccuum moves and lightning attacks ala M&L, none of that green fireball ****]

Dropping Ganon's standard **** everyone I'm a beast moveset for his sword.

Different weapons for Snake.

You get the point.

Anyway, discuss alternate movesets for each character. Wouldnt it be badass to **** with heavy blaster Fox while your friend has an awesome light blaster Fox? It would change up the tiers a bit, and allow for different kinds of the same character, as opposed to PLAY FOX THIS WAY OR YOU SUCK type thing.

I dont know, just a thoguht. My friends that I smash with didnt like the idea.

I like the idea, somewhat, but everybody would just play the transformation that comes out best.

That's way too much work to implement into the game...

Sounds like a neat idea but "probably won't happen"

They have the same system in soul caliber...

Either way, I wouldn't think it would be in this one but its a possibility for the next one...right...right?

This is a great idea. I like how switching Ike's weapons would be similar to the original Fire Emblem game that he's from.

The idea could work if it doesn't interfere with the tempo of starting a game. I say this because Smash Brothers is known for being one of the most fluent pick-up-and-play titles in the world. Literally. Just go to VS Mode, pick characters, game mode, and pick a stage. As long as this customization idea doesn't slow down the process, it's okay with me.

Though one downside is sometimes, it can detract from the possible moveset for another character. For example, why give Ike an axe when you could put in Hector? Assuming Brawl will have 35 characters, 40 tops, they're going to have a really hard time making movesets for everyone. Time limitations asside, they could barely create 26.

Why put in Hector when you can put in Issac and have a more diverse cast?

I never said I wanted Hector. That was just an example.
I'm not sure if Hector is a Golden Sun character, but the Hector I was referring to is the axe wielding Lord from Fire Emblem 7. Sorry for any confusion.

If you want to be a ****, I could just as easily say "who says I'm reffering to Issac from Golden Sun?"

Now why would you go say something like that? My post was apologetically clearing up any errors that could have occured but you go and start calling names? :( That really doesn't make any sense. All I said in my post is that I used Hector as an example and not personal preference. Would it have made you feel better if I used another character? Do you look for every reason to flame people or do you just have poor perception?

The only Isaac that's mentioned around here is the one from Golden Sun, a series I haven't played so I wouldn't know if you were trying to compare my version of Hector with your version of Hector. Please refraim from needless hostility.
I don't think he was trying to be sarcastic.

What other Issac were you talking about?
Not everyone on this forum is a 'he' you know. :/

Won't happen. This is catored to specific characters.

What would characters like Mario get in this situation?
If you had read my post, Mario could get a Doc moveset [because Doc is obviously going to be dropped] or perhaps a Hammer Bros moveset.

@Lunadis: You call that flaming? Haha, you need to get out more.

Nah, it's lacking consideration and courtesy. It's needless hostility, flaming or not. I don't want to sound like a whiner or anything, but assuming I'm trying to be a "****" isn't exactly a positive way of projecting yourself. Though I'm not surprised. It's the internet after all. I've been a forum admin on many popular forums in my time so I've seen my fair share of dogs and trolls. :p

As have I, kind lady.

Anyway, does everyone only use Fox? No, and thats why I think that if this were implemented everyone wouldnt automatically choose the best one.

Like I said, the idea is fine as long as it doesn't detract from movesets for other characters. Since no one but Dr. Mario has anything like MegaVitamins, he'd be a viable option. If Falco doesn't return, they could give his qualities to an alternative Fox. Though maybe Wolf could play like Falco, I don't know. D:
