On smashbros.com Sakurai said that there would be four different types of controls. The GCN, CC, Wiimote+Nunchuk, and sideways Wiimote.
He also said that motion sensoring wouldn't be used. I personally think that motion sensoring would make the game alot harder and slower for some players, so it's a good idea to do away with it. The only problem with no motion sensoring is the lack of buttons on the sideways wii mote. Look:

The wiimote+nun, the GCN, and the CC looks like they all have a sufficient amount of buttons for the game, but look at the sideways wiimote. The only buttons are A, 1, 2, and the dpad (I doubt with every fiber in my body that the + and - buttons do anything lmao) . Also if you're holding the controller sideways, it's going to make it very hard to hit the B button, so I think that's out of the question. So after saying all this, I'm thinking: With the sideways wiimote, we might need motionsensoring for other moves and tricks. 1 and 2 could act as A and B attacks, d-Pad for moving, and the big A button for grabbing...that would work...but it all seems kind of hard.

Any suggestions or comments? What do you guys think?

Sorry but I searched and I didn't find anything completely similar to this.
And yes I am new obviously, look at my post number, but I'm not an idiot (I'm just mistake prone =] ).
Sorry.

I don't see how the Wiimote will work, it looks like the only possible way would be if it have some motion sensoring involved, but who knows. :p

1. It's not sensoring, it's sensing.

2. Sakurai did not say motion sensing would not be used.

3. Motion sensing probably will be used for the Wiimote on it's side; but nothing else.

4. There is a topic for this stuff.

End topic?

I'm pretty sure he did saying motion sensing wouldn't be used...except it's 1:30 am here and my parents are begging for me to get off, so I'll find it tomorrow if this hasn't been closed yet.

Hey he hasn't. Okay? If you want to see anything and everything that Sakurai said, go to www.ign.com, I promise you they have everything there, except his "How The Game Came To Be Made" Page.

He said that he wouldn't make it required, though he did hint at using motion sensing, though the majority assumed it would be for some sort of minigame, ala Home run contest. Seems he just decided to make an alternate control style with most likely tilts.
